LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hosts of 'The View' have been criticized online for being vocal about Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer a day after his visit but not holding him equally accountable during his appearance.

Schumer was questioned by the panel for backing a Republican-supported spending bill when he appeared on the talk show on Tuesday, March 18.

Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin confront Chuck Schumer over his decision

The panel, including Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin, called out Chuck Schumer for his support of the spending bill, arguing that he had caved.

Goldberg asked Schumer, "Why? What were you thinking, and why?" Meanwhile, Hostin told him bluntly, "It gives me no pleasure to say this to you, because we are friends, but I think you caved."

Schumer defended his decision, calling it a difficult choice and acknowledging he expected criticism.

"If you have two choices, one bad, the other devastating; one chops off one of your fingers, the other chops off your arm? So I want to fight, and we are fighting, we’re gonna fight every day," he said.

He also dismissed President Donald Trump's praise for him, stating, "He was trolling me. I know this guy. He's trying to confuse people. He always tries to confuse people," Schumer said, reported MEAWW.

Alyssa Farah Griffin says Chuck Schumer should consider stepping aside

A day after Chuck Schumer's appearance, 'The View' hosts discussed Nancy Pelosi's subtle criticism of his actions, citing her statement, "I don't give away anything for nothing."

Alyssa Farah Griffin suggested that Schumer should reconsider his position. "I think he should consider stepping aside as Minority Leader purely because his messaging is disastrous," she said.

She also pointed out, "Yesterday, while he was here, he bragged about how in 2020 he helped get Democrats elected. 2024 just happened and Democrats got creamed."

"Chuck Schumer caved to the GOP and got nothing," said Sunny Hostin. She added, “He gave coverage to the GOP to do whatever the hell they wanted to do.”

“He looked feckless and he looked weak," she noted.

Internet calls out 'The View' hosts for their change in tone

As viewers watched the discussion unfold, many took to social media to call out the hosts for their shift in tone.

One user on X wrote, "I notice Hostin is fired up today about Chuck Schumer. Why was she so meek yesterday when he was there? None of you act that way when you have someone on the show. You act like sheep while they’re on the show then act all high and mighty when they’re not. You’re cowards."

Another person commented, "Sunny is just pissed that Schumer shut her down yesterday. She was ranting for days & when he was sitting beside her he explained that she was wrong & why. Sunny didn't argue when Schumer was there but continued her rant today when he wasn't there."

A third wrote, "Why weren’t you guys this feisty when Schumer was there yesterday??"
