NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' co-hosts recently blamed Elon Musk's DOGE department for the Delta plane crash in Toronto, Canada, as well as was very critical of the Tesla and SpaceX CEO during a recent episode.

Now, a rumor claiming that one of 'The View' co-hosts, Sunny Hostin, called Musk a "b*****d" on air has been circulating on social media sites. But is there any truth to this? Let us find out below.

Claim: Sunny Hostin called Elon Musk a 'b*****d' on air

In mid-February, a claim surfaced across social media, mainly Facebook, alleging that 'The View' co-host Sunny Hostin had called Elon Musk a "b*****d" on air.

The caption of the Facebook post read, "BREAKING: Sunny Hostin shocks audience by calling Elon Musk a “b*****d” on The View. Musk’s reaction leaves the entire studio stunned, prompting Joy Behar to issue an immediate apology."

Musk is reportedly the head of the Donald Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative, despite conflicting messaging from the White House, and has been a vocal spokesperson for the administration.

Fact Check: No proper evidence to back the claim

The claim about Sunny Hostin calling Elon Musk a "b*****d" on live television appears to be completely false as there is no proper evidence to back the claim, according to the fact-checking website Snopes. The post that was shared on Facebook had a link to an unreliable news site that cannot be trusted.

Moreover, no genuine media outlet reported on any such news, and there are no videos to confirm that the claim is accurate.

The article linked in the Facebook post was poorly written and a version that appeared on multiple sites swapped the genders of Hostin and Musk and referred to them as "Suply Hostin" and "Eloisa Musk," Snopes reported.

Furthermore, that version of the article had many basic grammatical errors that even generative AI models like ChatGPT do not make.

'The View' co-host Whoopi Goldberg l blames mass firings by Elon Musk's DOGE for Delta plane crash

Whoopi Goldberg lashed out at Elon Musk for all the recent plane crashes, including the Delta plane crash, and said on the February 18 episode, "I have been panicking over all this insanity with these planes!" as she stumbled over the pronunciation of the acronym for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)."

On February 17, a Delta Air Lines airplane carrying 80 passengers from Minneapolis flipped upside down while landing on the snowy runway at Toronto Pearson International Airport, injuring at least 18 people, as per CNN.

Goldberg added during the episode, "And there's all kinds of stuff going on. Like, so let's start with the string of mass firings by Elon Musk's Dodge – Doege? Dogge? Doggy. Dogey. Has sparked a lot of chaos, confusion, and fear…"
