Joy Behar slammed for criticizing Queen Elizabeth II's lengthy reign amid King Charles' cancer diagnosis
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: During the Tuesday, February 6, episode of 'The View', Joy Behar appeared to criticize Queen Elizabeth II's extensive reign of 70 years as the longest-serving British monarch.
This commentary occurred in the wake of Buckingham Palace's announcement that King Charles, who assumed the throne in September 2022 after his mother's death, has been diagnosed with cancer and will commence treatment.

The news prompted both Prince William and Prince Harry to quickly rally around their father's side in support.
Joy Behar says Queen Elizabeth II 'could have used some term limits' while discussing King Charles' cancer diagnosis
Broaching the topic of King Charles' cancer diagnosis, 'The View' host Whoopi Goldberg said, "We're sending our good vibes in support of King Charles who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Now, Charles reportedly called his son Harry to let him know before it went public."

She added, "So Harry is now, I guess, on his way back to see his dad. I mean, I hope that will help his prognosis because sometimes, less stress can help."
Behar subsequently exclaimed, "Poor Charles," concurring with Goldberg that he had endured a lengthy wait before ascending to the throne.

"The woman was in the position for 70 years, you know, and the longest reign. I think that she could have used some term limits," opined the 81-year-old TV personality.
"It’s like, why not step down and let Charles have his day in the sun?" continued Behar, further noting, "The poor guy, he finally gets to be king, and now he has an illness. That doesn’t seem fair. There’s something wrong about it."
A Prince Harry and Prince William reunion is improbable
While Prince Harry flew from his California home to be with his father, a source confirmed to The New York Post on Tuesday that he and Prince William will not be reuniting.
The brothers have been on bad terms, at least since Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down as senior members of the royal family and moved to California in 2020.
Harry reportedly expressed willingness to accept a reunion with his older brother, but instead, it was claimed that he spent a night in a London hotel.
Moreover, an insider noted that Prince William has "no plans" to see Harry as he’ll be returning to his royal duties after caring for his wife, Kate Middleton, as she recovers from abdominal surgery.
King Charles appeared to be in good spirits on the morning of Tuesday as he was spotted alongside his wife, Queen Camila, leaving Clarence House where Harry had reportedly made a "quick visit."
Internet slams Joy Behar over her remarks about Queen Elizabeth II
The comments made by Behar regarding the late Queen Elizabeth II didn't sit well with netizens, and they wasted no time in calling out 'The View' co-host.
One wrote, "She is one to talk about term limits for anyone she has the b***s to still support sleepy Joe when he has to have handlers to tell him where to go and stand and what to say. Why doesn’t she step aside and let someone new take her spot as well."
Another remarked, "Joy should have been put on term limits years ago!" and a person added, "If there’s anything to not care about, it’s THIS!"

In the YouTube comments section, someone wrote, "Joy that’s not how the royal family works the Queen can’t step down from her title."
"Joy has chosen the most American thing to say lol It’s not as easy as just abdicating the throne so the future monarch can reign. Coronations are before God there’s no Oath to social norms. You’re expected to die on the throne not give everyone a fair shot," explained one more.
