NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' host Sunny Hostin claimed that it was important to speak out facts even as political leaders across the country were calling for toning down the political rhetoric.

She was joined by her co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar and Alyssa Farah Griffin at the Hot Topics Table as they discussed President Joe Biden's interview with NBC anchor Lester Holt. When Holt asked the incumbent what he would do to try to lower the political temperature in the country, Biden replied, he will "continue to talk about things that matter to the American public."

'The View' host Sunny Hostin says calling out the truth 'really important'

Reacting to President Joe Biden's statement, Hostin said, "I just think that calling out the truth is not turning up the heat, right? I just think that it's really important - tone matters, words matter, but facts matter too."

"And so if you see behavior, or you see policy, or you see rhetoric that is inappropriate and improper, I don't think we should be silent about that, because silence can be complicity, " she noted.

Sara Haines praises Joe Biden for 'unifying' response to assassination attempt on Donald Trump

'The View' co-host Sara Haines praised President Joe Biden's recent speeches and interviews, "partially because (of) the content of the message."

"I thought it was very presidential how he handled the response to the assassination attempt. I thought it was very unifying," she shared.

On "rhetoric and engaging," Haines said, "It's your intention. Because you see President Biden and the way I see that a lot of people who are saying we gotta win at the polls- it's not we got to storm the Capitol."

"Like there is a difference where- are you inciting mobs and followers and saying, come with me, let's do this, or are you saying change matters, let's go use our voice at the ballot box," she noted shading former President Trump and his alleged role in trying to overturn the 2020 election results and inciting insurrection on January 6, 2021.

"I see a very clear difference in the rhetoric," she added.
