Whoopi Goldberg shredded for her claim that Supreme Court gave Trump 'a rubber' in Colorado ballot ruling
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: 'The View' host Whoopi Goldberg delivered an unexpected metaphor during a discussion about former President Donald Trump, whom she affectionately refers to as "You Know Who".
The debate centered around the Supreme Court's ruling on February 4 that Colorado can't exclude Trump from the state's primary ballot over to his alleged involvement in the insurrection.
Whoopi Goldberg says Donald Trump has been 'normalized'
In her signature style, Goldberg used a colorful phrase to make her point. “The thing that bothers me about this, and I know it’s probably the right decision, but I don’t like that we’ve normalized this man,” Goldberg told her co-hosts.
She added, “It is really irritating the poo out of me that we have normalized him and his bad behavior."
“Why have we normalized it? Why is this now normal behavior?” she further asked.
Ana Navarro highlighted to Goldberg that the "normalization of bad behavior" is heavily associated with Donald Trump but emphasized that it's not a recent development.
Reflecting on the notorious Access Hollywood tape where Trump boasted about sexual assault, Navarro pointed out that this marked a crucial moment in his political journey, marking the "beginning of the normalization" of such behavior.
Navarro further commented, "There are numerous instances where Donald Trump has said and done things that would have prompted any other regular human being to resign in shame the following day."
She attributed the normalization of "evil and wrongdoing" to Republicans' continued support and votes for Trump.
Following the audience's applause for Navarro's comments, Goldberg joined the conversation, admitting her previous admiration for the Supreme Court. However, she accused the SCOTUS of providing Trump with protection in the recent ruling.
"He has once again been given a rubber to put on and walk through the poo—" Goldberg began, and in response to the stunned silence, she affirmed, "Yes, yes, you heard me," without offering further explanation.
Wrapping up the segment, Goldberg lamented about the changes she's witnessed in the justice system over the years. Goldberg said that the ceilings broken by women in the past are now being "shut down" and historical progress is being erased.
Goldberg emphasized, "We are in the process of removing history. There’s a lot going on, and we have normalized it."
She then urged viewers to engage in local elections, saying, "Hopefully you want an America that is gonna work a little better than this one that is working."
Whoopi Goldberg gets slammed for calling out Trump
Goldberg's comments didn't resonate with viewers as many took to social media, reacting, "I would like to see an America without these bufoons!"
Another chimed in, "Whoopie is irrelevant and named after a cushion for Crhist's sake. And there never was an insurrection."
"Ironic that the three angriest women on TV are called Whoopi, Joy, and Sunny," another person commented.
While one wrote, "Anyone named Whoopi who’s last name isn’t Cushion needs to be incarcerated," another said, "She has a rubber brain. 9-0 like I said."
One viewer interrogated, "Wait....she still lives in America?" and another noted, "I love watching the democrats seethe!"
