LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Mariska Hargitay is not just saving people on-screen but also helping them on the road!
The ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ star was approached by a young girl believing Mariska to be a real cop.
Why did kid approach Hargitay?
The incident took place in New York City on April 10, where the crew was filming one of the final episodes of season 25.
It was the badge she wore as part of her character’s outfit that attracted the kid to seek help from the actress.
A witness shared with People, that the little girl got separated from her mother in the Anne Loftus Playground in Fort Tryon Park and thought Hargitay was police.
Hargitay didn’t disappoint the young girl and helped find her mother, halting the shoot for 20 minutes.
The 60-year-old talked about shooting the season 25 in January with the outlet.
“We’ve been on a parallel journey. There’s a thing: WWOBD, ‘What would Olivia Benson do?’ The fans would always talk about it, and one day it hit me,” she said about her character Olivia Benson.
“I also have those moments where I’ve sort of slipped into her. If there’s a crisis, I just take over and lead like that. Being strong and fearless. It’s sort of this perfect feminist story.”
