LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jason Kelce expressed his excitement over becoming a commentator on ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Countdown’ by picking up Quinta Brunson of ‘Abbott Elementary’ – a mockumentary series.
He happily hugged Brunson after being welcomed at Disney Upfront, as reported by PEOPLE.
Jason Kelce feels ‘incredible’ about joining ESPN
ABC News reported that the former football center signed a multiyear agreement with ESPN on Tuesday, May 14, after announcing his retirement from the NFL in March.
Jason reportedly said during the event, “I feel incredible. I know what it takes to be great — it takes a great team.”
He stated, “I am more than psyched to participate in all the shenanigans that’ll take place this season,” before adding, “I have three wonderful daughters, and my wife K and I, we’ll be taking full advantage.”
Besides, via a statement, the 36-year-old also shared, “I’m excited to join ESPN and particularly the Monday Night Countdown team. ESPN was a consistent presence in our household growing up and the network helped shape who I am and my love of all sports.”
“To now appear on that same screen is a full circle moment. And, I mean it’s freaking Monday Night Football! and I’m ready for some football,” Jason noted.

ESPN called Jason Kelce a ‘vibrant personality’
ESPN PR also issued a statement addressing Jason’s hiring.
It read, “ESPN has signed Super Bowl Champion Jason Kelce to a multi-year agreement, adding the vibrant personality as an analyst on the company’s marquee programming around premier NFL telecasts.”
“The 13-year NFL veteran joins Monday Night Countdown each week (6 – 8 p.m. ET), leading into Monday Night Football throughout the regular season and ESPN’s Super Wild Card and Divisional Round playoff games,” it revealed.
Calling Jason “a highly respected, Super Bowl Champion,” Burke Magnus, ESPN President of Content, said, “Walking off the field and immediately to ESPN, viewers will benefit from his perspective which has been shaped through his years as an established locker room leader and a future Hall of Fame center.”
“Jason’s addition to Monday Night Countdown will greatly strengthen our NFL coverage,” Magnus added.
