Tika Sumpter donates personal baby items to families affected by devastating LA fires
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tika Sumpter, known for her role in 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3', has launched a personal effort to assist families affected by the destructive Los Angeles wildfires.
On Friday, January 10, the 44-year-old actress announced through her Instagram Stories that she has initiated a "mini-distribution" to donate her own baby items to those in need.
Tika Sumpter says she's not accepting donations
In her Instagram Story, Sumpter shared, “These are personal baby items I’ve kept for far too long, thinking one day I would need them again.”
The items include car seats, strollers, bottles, toys, and other necessities.
Addressing inquiries from followers eager to contribute, Sumpter clarified that she is not accepting donations.
“We’re just giving away our stuff,” she emphasized.

The actress also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support her initiative has received.

Tika Sumpter's personal connection to the fires
The wildfires, which began on January 7, have claimed at least 11 lives and destroyed numerous homes, according to the County of LA Department of Medical Examiner.
Tika Sumpter, who shares an eight-year-old daughter with her husband, Nicholas James, spoke candidly about her fears during the crisis.
“Looking at the LA sky, I prayed hard, holding my child,” she wrote in a post reflecting on the experience of landing during the turbulent period.
Sumpter reiterated that no possessions could compare to the safety of her loved ones.
Jamie Lee Curtis makes $1 million donation to LA fire efforts
Jamie Lee Curtis and her husband, screenwriter Christopher Guest, have donated $1 million to aid those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.
The 66-year-old actress revealed on Instagram on January 9 that the funds would be allocated through their Family Foundation to support relief efforts for communities devastated by the fires.
“As the fire still rages on and first responders work tirelessly to save lives, my husband, our children, and I have pledged $1 million to establish a fund of support for our great city and state,” Curtis wrote.
