Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner left Oscars 2025 briefly after his ex-GF Lily-Rose Depp took the stage

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Timothee Chalamet, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in ‘A Complete Unknown’, was one of the most watched-after stars during the 97th Academy Awards that took place at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, March 2.
All eyes were on the 29-year-old ‘Dune’ star as he attended Hollywood’s biggest night with his girlfriend of two years - Kylie Jenner, 27.

As Chalamet’s fans were left heartbroken by the actor’s Oscar snub when he lost the Best Actor award to ‘The Brutalist’ star Adrien Brody, it was the actor’s sudden disappearance from his seat ahead of his ex-girlfriend Lily-Rose Depp taking the stage that had viewers scratching their heads.

Timothee Chalamet left auditorium with Kylie Jenner before his ex Lily-Rose Depp went on stage
After Timothee Chalamet walked the red carpet alone, his makeup mogul girlfriend quietly joined him inside the auditorium during the ceremony.
The much-in-love couple did not shy away from showing affection as they stole covert glances and a few kisses throughout the show.

However, during the commercial break ahead of the award for Best Costume Design, the ‘Wonka’ star was seen leading Jenner out of the hall on camera. The couple’s exit also happened just before Chalamet’s ex-girlfriend Lily-Rose Depp took to the stage to conduct the presentation along with his co-star Elle Fanning.
When ‘Wicked’ stylist Paul Tazewell went on the stage to receive the honor, it was observed that Chalamet and Jenner's seats were empty.

As the timing raised suspicions among fans, a source told Daily Mail that Chalamet left with his girlfriend before Depp went into the spotlight to avoid “drama” as he wanted to protect Jenner, who has been left so “fragile” after the death of her hairstylist and friend, Jesus Guerrero. Guerrero tragically died at the age of 34.
The source revealed, “Kylie struggles with insecurity issues, and she can feel out of place at these events,” before adding, “She is aware of some of the criticism levelled at her and how some people believe she shouldn’t be at these ceremonies. She likes to avoid any drama.”

Speaking about the devastation ‘The Kardashians’ star has felt after the death of her friend, the insider noted, “Plus, she is in a very fragile state right now. Jesus’ death has shaken her. He was not only her hair stylist but her best friend.”
“She is really, really crushed by this, and Timothee is doing everything that he can to be there for her and show her the love she needs right now,” continued the source.

The insider added, “They are both aware that had they stayed seated, everyone would have been talking about their reaction to Lily-Rose on stage,” before emphasizing, “It would have caused unnecessary drama. Timothee did everything he could to keep her happy and to protect her.”
The couple, however, returned to their seats later.
The ‘Little Women’ star previously dated Johnny Depp’s daughter for about two years after they co-starred in David Michôd's 2019 historical epic ‘The King’.
The former couple largely kept themselves out of the limelight, and news of their breakup came out only when Chalamet declared in 2020 that he was “currently single.”
The ‘Nosferatu’ actress has been dating rapper-singer 070 Shake (real name Danielle Balbuena) since 2023.
Kylie Jenner was more relaxed at Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty

While the couple’s sudden flight from the Oscars venue was partly because of the actor’s desire to protect his reality star girlfriend from stress, another source shared that Jenner was more in her element at the Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty later in the night.

When they went to the bash, the couple was reportedly joined by Jenner's sisters -- Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian.
Alleging that the mother-of-two felt more relaxed at the afterparty, the source shared, “She was texting and being her normal self, and they both were having fun mingling and chatting.”
