Timothee Chalamet offers to cover $500 fine for his lookalike contest which he crashed: ‘Truly funny’
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Timothee Chalamet's playful involvement in a recent lookalike contest in New York City took an unexpected turn when the event’s organizer, Anthony Po, received a $500 fine.
The contest, held on October 27 at Washington Square Park, attracted thousands of attendees before the NYPD intervened, citing the lack of a permit.

Despite the penalty, Anthony Po, known online as AnthPo, expressed that the fine was a small cost compared to the overall production expenses
“The production [cost] like $4,000, so it’s like legit the best case scenario,” Po told People.
He acknowledged that the fine wasn’t enough to deter similar events, adding, “They need to do something stronger to [disincentivize] us.”
Po’s post about the ticket went viral, catching the attention of Chalamet’s team. The actor’s team reached out with a generous offer, which Po appreciated but ultimately declined.
“They offered to pay the ticket, which is truly funny,” Po said, before explaining that a digital invite app covered the fine instead.

“They basically [said] like, ‘We thought it was awesome. Thanks so much,’” Po recalled.
Although Chalamet attended the event, Po confirmed that he didn’t meet the actor and ranked him only 13th in the official contest as the presence created chaos.

“I think if he would've stayed for the end of it, maybe I would've given him runner-up or something,” Po said, noting that Chalamet’s mustache set him apart from other contestants who maintained the actor’s signature clean-shaven look!
Winners of the Timothee Chalamet lookalike contest
Miles Mitchell, a 21-year-old contestant, bagged the first prize at the Timothee Chalamet lookalike event.
Despite the excitement, neither Po nor Mitchell saw Chalamet during the gathering.
However, Zander Dueve, the runner-up, caught a glimpse of the star. “I saw the very top of his head through the Washington Square Arch,” he told People.
“I just saw his hat and his eyebrows, because you can’t miss those," he added.
