TJ Miller opens up about his relationship with Ryan Reynolds after calling him 'horrifically mean'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: TJ Miller has revealed that there’s no lingering bad blood between him and his 'Deadpool' co-star Ryan Reynolds despite past tensions.
In a new interview, Miller discussed his relationship with the actor, offering fans an update two years after he publicly criticized Reynolds for being "horrifically mean" during the filming of 'Deadpool 2'.

TJ Miller reveals he and Ryan Reynolds are on good terms
Speaking on SiriusXM’s 'The Bonfire' on November 12, TJ Miller explained that the two had recently spoken and that Reynolds had been a supportive friend. “We talked a little while ago,” the 43-year-old actor shared. “He’s just been such a good friend right now.”
When asked if he’d be open to returning for a future 'Deadpool' film, Miller responded enthusiastically, “That would be awesome.”
The update comes after a controversial comment Miller made in 2022 when he accused Reynolds of being particularly harsh while the two were reshooting a scene for 'Deadpool 2'.
At the time, Miller described the moment as “really weird,” saying Reynolds—who was playing the title character, Deadpool—was “horrifically mean.”
He recalled that Reynolds made a remark to him in character, saying, “You know what’s great about you, Weasel? You’re not the star, but you do just enough exposition that it’s funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie.”
TJ Miller clears the air on past tension with Ryan Reynolds
TJ Miller, who played the role of Weasel in the first two 'Deadpool' films, was visibly upset by the comment, leading him to say during a 2022 appearance on 'The Adam Carolla Show', “Would I work with him again? No. I would not work with him again.”
However, Miller later clarified that his remarks were a misunderstanding. The actor revealed that Reynolds reached out to him privately, apologizing for the way he made him feel on set.
“It was very cool for him to say, ‘Hey, I just heard on the show that you were upset about this,’” Miller shared in October 2022 on SiriusXM’s 'Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Show'.
Despite the awkwardness on set, Miller appears to have reconciled with Reynolds, acknowledging that they’ve moved past their previous tension.
The two had worked together on 'Deadpool' (2016) and 'Deadpool 2' (2018), but Miller’s character, Weasel, was absent from 'Deadpool 3' in 2024.
