OTTUMWA, LOWA: Comedian and 'True Lies' actor Tom Arnold has provided insights into his ex-wife Roseanne Barr's past political views, sharing that she used to "hate Donald Trump."

The revelation follows Barr's recent controversial speech at a pro-Trump event.

Arnold, who was married to Barr from 1990 to 1994, took to social media to shed light on their political history. In a tweet, he stated, "We hated David Duke. Loved Edwin Edwards. We supported Bill Clinton. Went to his Inauguration. LOVED Hillary Clinton. Had her in our home raising $ for Democrats. Roseanne HATED Donald Trump. After we divorced Trump told me I was lucky because she was disgusting. Life is strange."

Political commentator and educator Tim Wise tweeted about the famous couple supporting him against David Duke's ill-fated senate campaign in 1990, which sparked Arnold's revelation.

“The de-evolution of Roseanne Barr has been a shit show to watch,” Wise tweeted. “I remember in 1990 when she and @TomArnold sent $2500 to the anti-David Duke organization I worked for to help defeat him in the US Senate race. Today, she’d probably send Duke the money instead. Sad.”

This revelation highlights Barr's shift from left-wing political activism to becoming a vocal supporter of Donald Trump. During their marriage, the couple was known for their left-leaning political views, supporting Democrats like Bill and Hillary Clinton.

In 2018, Barr was fired from the 'Roseanne' reboot for posting a racist tweet about former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarret. Since then, she's been riding the right-wing "cancel culture" grievance train.

Roseanne Barr's controversial speech takes bizarre turn with strange statements

Barr, who was a longtime member of the Democratic Party, transitioned to conservatism, and her recent speech at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest in Phoenix, Arizona, gained attention for its unusual content.

In her address, Barr expressed concerns about communism, stating, "If we don’t stop these horrible communists. Do you hear me?"

The actress and comedian, who has transformed into a MAGA influencer in recent years, shouted phrases like "Stalinists! Communists! With a huge helping of Nazi fascists thrown in!" during her speech.

The audience initially responded with cheers, seemingly supporting her unusual sentiments. Barr continued with a call to action, stating, "Plus one caliphate. To replace every Christian democracy on Earth now! Occupy! Do you know that?!"

Barr's political transformation has been marked by her outspoken support for Donald Trump and her participation in right-wing media. She has embraced pro-Trump rhetoric and made appearances on Fox Nation.

However, her controversial statements have not been limited to political views. Barr has faced backlash for antisemitic remarks, including denying the Holocaust and making disturbing comments about the number of Jewish people who perished.
