CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: As Hurricane Milton barrels toward Florida, Tom Cruise’s luxurious penthouse in Clearwater finds itself in the storm's crosshairs.

The renowned Scientologist, who has called the sprawling condo home since 2016, is far from the chaos, touching down in London on Wednesday, October 9, after piloting his own helicopter.

While Cruise remains miles away, the massive storm is sparking frantic evacuations across the state. Florida officials have ramped up their warnings, urging residents to leave immediately as Milton’s strength intensifies.

With tornadoes already touching down and millions bracing for impact, the devastation could rival recent storms like Hurricane Helene, which left Florida reeling just weeks ago.

Tom Cruise has called his Florida apartment home since 2016, after selling off his Beverly Hills properties in a lucrative $39 million deal.

The 'Top Gun' star's Clearwater residence, located in The SkyView complex, features all the trappings of a Hollywood star’s lifestyle—complete with a jaw-dropping 39-foot rooftop pool, including a pool garden, pool kitchen, and private garage with space for nine cars.

The penthouse itself occupies the top two floors of the building and was designed with luxury in mind, boasting a flight simulator and an outdoor dining area.

The building offers a range of amenities for residents, including the Sky Lounge community pool, a children's playroom, and a lounge known as 'The Vault.'

However,  this lavish retreat now faces the fury of a hurricane described as the 'storm of the century'. While Tom Cruise’s mansion is expected to be directly in Milton's path, he remains miles from the devastation, having landed in London with his sister Marian and fellow actors Simone Coppo and Martina Ferragamo, per Daily Mail.

His adopted son Connor, whom he shares with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, previously lived in the penthouse but now resides at the Church of Scientology’s Sandcastle compound, where he has become more deeply involved in the religion.

Hurricane Milton update

Hurricane Milton struck near Siesta Key, Florida, on Wednesday night, October 9, as a Category 3 storm, but has since been downgraded to a Category 1.

The storm is projected to sweep across the Florida peninsula before moving into the Atlantic Ocean. Forecasts indicate that parts of Florida's Gulf Coast could experience storm surges ranging from 9 to 13 feet.

On Wednesday night, over 2.6 million Florida residents were left without power, according to utility tracker PowerOutage.us.

Officials have warned that those refusing to evacuate could face dire consequences. Emergency Management Director Cathie Perkins didn’t mince words: “Those of you who were punched during Hurricane Helene, this is going to be a knockout. You need to get out and you need to get out now.”
