Notably, Payne performed at a benefit show dedicated to Tom's fight against cancer. "Then when Tom passed, Liam came to Tom's funeral... Do you know when you think [of] someone, 'You're a good soul'? He didn’t need to come to Tom's funeral. He felt that he needed to be there," she added.

Kelsey's sentiments were echoed by Tom's The Wanted bandmates, who paid tribute to Payne on stage just a day after his death. Tom Parker passed away on March 30, 2022, due to complications from glioblastoma, a type of brain tumor. In tribute to Tom after his death, Liam took to social media, expressing his sorrow: "I'm heartbroken to hear about Tom. He was so full of life and humor, and the memories I have of him will stay with me forever. Sending my thoughts out to his family and his brothers in The Wanted."

Tragically, Liam Payne died on October 16 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Early reports indicated that a partial autopsy found "multiple substances in his system," including a substance known as "pink cocaine," a mix of methamphetamine, ketamine, and MDMA.

Sources close to his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, suggested that his behavior had become increasingly erratic in the days leading up to his death.
