Tracy Morgan says his 40 lbs weight gain due to Ozempic was just a 'joke', admits 'I was glad to use it'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian and actor Tracy Morgan recently clarified his previous statement about gaining weight while using Ozempic, a medication for type 2 diabetes.
The 55-year-old confirmed to E! News that his comment was "just a joke."

Morgan said Ozempic, like other stars who have talked about it, has indeed helped him by reducing his appetite to half.
He said, “Ozempic did great by me and I was glad to use it.”
Morgan said he tasks it once every week. “I take Ozempic every Thursday,” he said, adding, “It cuts my appetite in half.”

Tracy Morgan's claim of gaining 40 lbs with Ozempic
During his appearance on 'The Tonight Show' on March 20, Morgan humorously claimed, “I’ve learned to out-eat Ozempic. I out-ate Ozempic. I’ve gained 40 lbs.”
Host Jimmy Fallon responded in surprise, stating, “I’ve never heard of anyone gaining 40.”
The '30 Rock' alum then quipped, "I’m like Magic Johnson. I gained 40 pounds."
Ozempic’s role in Tracy Morgan’s health and physique
Morgan first revealed his use of Ozempic during an August 2023 episode of 'Today with Hoda & Jenna.'
When co-host Hoda Kotb commented on his improved physique, Morgan attributed his weight loss to the medication.
“No, that’s Ozempic,” he said, adding “That’s how this weight got lost… I went and got a prescription and I got Ozempic."
He jokingly added, "It cuts my appetite in half. Now I only eat half a bag of Doritos.”

Tracy Morgan is not the only celebrity to speak openly on the use of weight loss drug
Morgan is among several celebrities who have publicly endorsed Ozempic for weight loss. Sharon Osbourne and Chelsea Handler have acknowledged their use of medication while Whoopi Goldberg has disclosed her use of Mounjaro, a type 2 diabetes drug, for weight loss.
Ree Drummond, the 'Pioneer Woman' star, has also talked about her 50-pound weight loss in a blog post.
Brooke Burke, TV personality and fitness trainer, recently talked on Fox News about the dangers and benefits of taking Ozempic.
Some of the other stars who have accepted the use of Ozempic include Emily Simpson, Amy Schumer, Gracie McGraw, Jennifer Fessler, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, Elon Musk, Oprah Winfrey, and various others, according to a PageSix report.
