LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pop star Gwen Stefani's recent participation in the Catholic prayer app Hallow's Advent Pray25 Prayer Challenge has sparked resentment among fans.
The 55-year-old 'No Doubt' singer recently joined forces with the well-known prayer and meditation app to encourage people to pray during the holidays, per Daily Mail.
Some of her fans have praised Stefani for publicly embracing her faith, while others have chastised the 'Hollaback Girl' singer for the religious endeavor.

Gwen Stefani partners with Catholic prayer app Hallow
Gwen Stefani was once the coolest woman in mainstream rock-pop as the 'No Doubt' singer with perma-scarlet lips and dubious cultural appropriation.
However, she has spent the past decade as Blake Shelton's devoted wife, adopting a homely housewife-esque conservatism that left many of her fans wondering what happened to the woman who gave listeners 'Tragic Kingdom'.
Stefani wowed in a minidress, flaunting a face free of wrinkles as she waxed poetic about the app Hallow in the lead-up to Christmas.
"Christmas season has always been my favorite time of the year. It's the season that we get to celebrate the birth of our Lord," she said in the promotional video.
She added, "That's why I'm partnering with prayer meditation and music app Hallow for their 25-day prayer challenge."
"Join me and millions of other Christians around the world as we celebrate together the truth that God so loved the world that he gave us his only son," she said.

According to Exclaim! Magazine, the Catholic prayer app had previously announced that it would be collaborating with the singer in late November but Stefani confirmed her participation in a video uploaded to her Instagram earlier this week.
She captioned her promotional post by saying: "I’m excited to partner with @hallowapp this Advent and Christmas on a beautiful series of prayer and music and to journey together this holiday season 🎄 Hallow is doing a 25-day prayer challenge called Advent Pray25 🙏"
"Every day until Christmas, u can pray and meditate on God’s love and I’ll be sharing a reflection on my song, Christmas Eve and why this song means so much to me ❄️ Join me every day in praying on Hallow at hallow.com/gwen."

Moreover, Stefani will collaborate with the app to release a new song titled 'Christmas Eve' on December 7. Hallow's website stated: "It's a beautiful song centered around God's love, perfect to cap off our first week of Advent together."
The endorsement came after Stefani described her relationship with country music artist Shelton as a "miracle" following her painful divorce from ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.
In an interview with People magazine, the 'No Doubt' frontwoman opened up about how her views on love have evolved over time. She also claimed that she felt protective of her three children, Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10, following her Rossdale split.
She said that her world completely changed in 2015 when she started dating Shelton and eventually married him in 2021. "God putting Blake in my life was just that miracle," Stefani said at the time.
Gwen Stefani draws ire for promoting Catholic prayer app Hallow
Several fans online criticized Gwen Stefani over her Christian beliefs while many accused the 'Hollaback Girl' hitmaker of using filters to promote the Catholic prayer app.
One user commented on Instagram, "Trad wife transformation complete," while a second user remarked, "I'm just going to tell myself this is AI and continue with my life."
A third user wrote, "Blink if your husband is making you do this Gwen. Either that or this is AI."
A fourth user added, "Gwen, I've loved you since I was eight years old back in the Tragic Kingdom days. I understand your faith is important to you but this is seriously cringe."
"Who is this and what have you done with the real Gwen?!! This cannot be real. Not only she just makes music to match her husband's but now she seems like such a Republican," chimed in one.
Another user questioned on X (formerly Twitter), "Is she really christain though? Is your Savior Jesus Christ, Gwen?"
Another assumed, "Y'all do know Catholics are Christians, right? Stefani is Italian. What Italians do y'all know who aren't Catholic??"
Fans took notice of Stefani's glowing complexion immediately, and one posted the video on X with the caption, "Gwen Stefani?! Jesus Christ…"
Another user remarked, "What filter are they using on that camera?"
"Gwen Stefani’s Christian glow up is one of the best things about 2024," wrote another.
One added, "The filter is the craziest part," while another remarked, "Guess she only drinks that holy bath water now...."
