Travis Barker’s ex Shanna Moakler took weight loss drug Mounjaro after 'eating pain away' over tragic death of her parents
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Travis Barker's ex-wife Shanna Moakler who lost 20 pounds got candid about her personal life, and admitted to taking the weight-loss drug Mounjaro (an FDA-approved drug approved to treat Type 2 diabetes that many use off-label for weight loss) after she decided to “eat the pain away” when her parents died last year.
During an interview with People, the 'Meet the Barkers' alum spoke about losing her mom, Gail, in January 2023 and then her dad, John, seven months later.

Moakler said in the tell-all interview, “I was in a very, very dark place. I stopped dieting. I stopped exercising. I just ate like s**t. I was so devastated, and I missed my f**king mom and dad. I was like, ‘I’m going to f**king eat the pain away."
Moakler, 49, remembered how her eating habits deteriorated when reporters started inquiring about Travis Barker's wife, Kourtney Kardashian, being sent to the hospital due to problems with the birth of their son Rocky.
"It was on another level, and I didn’t know how to deal [with it],” she continued. “I was sad. And I just missed my parents so much,” she added.
The TV personality, who was married to the Blink-182 drummer from 2004 to 2008, explained she started to feel like her old self again when she started using Mounjaro earlier this year.
"I don’t think anyone has a clue about who I am,” Moakler told the magazine. "I am more than just the ex-wife of famous men. I was Miss USA at 19. I’m smart. Every part I’ve ever got in any movie, or every show I hosted or auditioned for, I worked my f**king ass off to get,” she added, also referring to her ex-fiance, Oscar De La Hoya, whom she dated from 1997 to 2000.

Moakler, who has been outspoken and an open critic about her ex-husband, Travis Barker's new family, also threw shade at the Kardashian-Jenner clan, saying, “I also don’t have to like the f**king Kardashians, and I’m honestly sick of talking about them."
"As I stand here today, as a mature woman who’s gone through all that … I do not give a f**k what anyone thinks of me anymore. I’m proud of who I am,” Moalker says.
In May Moakler lashed out at Barker who is married to Kim Kardashian's sister Kourtney and called the rocker a “narcissist” while explaining she could not compare with being a better parent than him.
“I think it really comes from like when you’re dealing with like a narcissist or you’re dealing with a controlling personality,” she said per Page Six, adding her ex is a “very powerful famous person.”
"But I gave up, I was never really trying to compete. I gave that up a long time ago,” the podcaster continued. “I was like, ‘You win. Like you’re the winner,” she said.
Moakler shares her children Alabama, 18, and Landon, 20, with Travis Barker and daughter Atiana, 25, with Oscar De La Hoya.
