Given how frequently Swift has applauded Kelce from the stands, some fans were left wondering why the Chiefs star failed to support the 'Fortnight' singer as she sparkled on the red carpet in a custom Vivienne Westwood corseted minidress.

According to TMZ Sports, the tight end lost the opportunity to join the 'Lover' singer at the award ceremony for the second time. Some people close to the NFL player revealed that Kelce is currently in New Orleans, prepping for the Super Bowl with his squad.

Although Kelce did not attend the Grammys with Swift, he did send her well wishes, per Entertainment Tonight. "Although Travis would have loved to be with Taylor…she feels so supported by him and knows he will be cheering her on," a source told the outlet.

The athlete's training schedule and preparation for the Super Bowl matchup against the 49ers in 2024 also prevented him from attending the Grammys.

Addressing his absence at the 2024 Grammys during his appearance on 'The Pat McAfee Show', Kelce said, "I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for."

Although Swift received nominations in six different categories, the pop star did not take home any awards from the ceremony this year. She was spotted clinking champagne glasses with Beyonce's husband, Jay-Z, following the 'Cowboy Carter' hitmaker's significant victory.

The 'Bad Blood' songstress will be making her second Super Bowl appearance on February 9 after traveling from Singapore to Las Vegas to watch Kelce and the Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers in the previous season.

Although Taylor Swift dazzled at the 2025 Grammy Awards wearing a scarlet, glittering minidress with a red T-letter thigh chain, fans took note of the fact that her boyfriend Travis Kelce was not by her side.

Swifties expressed their opinions on social media, with some believing that the NFL tight end's absence was somewhat unfair. 

One wrote, "I don't like them as a couple, but does anyone find it odd that Taylor goes to all of Travis's games but he doesn't bother to go with her to award shows? It seems one sided."

"Travis isn’t there but I assume Taylor is going to have to go to the Super Bowl… classic," another remarked, while someone else added, "Why Taylor Swift go to Chiefs games, but Travis Kelce can’t attend s**t," a third user chimed in.

The couple's ardent supporters, however, quickly dispelled the criticism by pointing out that since they announced their romance to the world in September 2023, Swift has attended 22 of Kelce's 35 games.

The three-time Super Bowl champion, meanwhile, has gone far and wide to support his girlfriend, traveling all over the world to attend 14 of her Eras Tour performances, including his now-famous onstage appearance at London's Wembley Stadium in June 2024.
