Travis Kelce says Taylor Swift is ‘in my life’ and ‘what we have is special’ in a resurfaced interview

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce opened up about his relationship with pop icon Taylor Swift in a radio interview that recently went viral on social media.

The tight end spoke candidly about balancing his personal and professional life and how Taylor Swift has influenced his fan base.

Travis Kelce, 34, told sports reporter Laura Okmin that he was focused on the game and his craft, but he also acknowledged that his love life was in the spotlight more than ever since he started dating Taylor Swift, 34, last summer.

“I do, you know, have a guarded approach to it,” he said, adding “But at the same time, I know what me and Taylor have is special, so I get [the interest].”

The interview was conducted before Super Bowl LVIII where Kelce and his team faced the San Francisco 49ers on February 11.

Okmin asked Kelce if he was aware of how his relationship with Swift has changed the dynamics of NFL fans, especially among young women who have shown a new interest in the sport.

Travis Kelce said he was very aware and credited Taylor Swift for bringing her loyal supporters to the Chiefs Kingdom.

“I’m very aware,” Kelce said, adding “And obviously, this is mostly because Taylor’s in my life now and we got her [to be] part of Chiefs Kingdom."

"...That brought an entire entourage of human beings who just love to support her and love to support everything that she’s about," he added.

 He also said attention on his love life has "been a fun ride" while it was “beautiful” to see how Swift’s presence at his games has inspired dads and daughters to bond over football, Us Weekly reports.

Kelce reflected on his big year, which he described as a time of“a lot of happiness” and “a lot of hard work” with some “new challenges” along the way.

He and Swift made their public debut in September 2023 when she flew to Kansas City to cheer him on at Arrowhead Stadium. She continued to attend his games throughout the season, culminating in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
