“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’” Ed explained. “They got out there, and that’s when he asked her. It was beautiful.”

“I was at an Eagles public practice — there were 60,000 people there on a Sunday night,” Ed recalled. “At that practice, I got a FaceTime call from them. As soon as I saw Travis and then Taylor on the screen, I knew exactly what they were going to tell me. And sure enough, they let us know.”
He added that the couple didn’t just reach out to him but also connected with both of their families. “They started FaceTiming me, their mother, and her folks to make sure everybody knew,” Ed said. “To see them together is great.”

On August 26, the duo made their engagement public with a joint Instagram post. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift captioned the photos, set to her song 'So High School' from 'The Tortured Poets Department,' a track long rumored to be inspired by Kelce.
The pictures captured the Kansas City Chiefs tight end down on one knee as Swift lovingly touched his face, along with more intimate moments of the couple embracing under a pink-and-white floral trellis.

Swift, dressed in a Ralph Lauren halter-neck gown and a diamond-encrusted Cartier watch, proudly showed off her engagement ring. The ring, designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, features an Old Mine brilliant-cut diamond.
Congratulations poured in from all directions, even from President Donald Trump. “I wish them a lot of luck,” Trump said. “I think he’s a great player, a great guy. And I think she’s a terrific person.”
His warm words came despite his history of throwing jabs at Swift in the past.
Taylor Swift reveals how Travis Kelce’s backstage attempt at Eras tour won her heart
The couple opened up about their romance on Kelce’s 'New Heights' podcast, where Swift admitted that it was his “wild, romantic gesture” — trying to meet her backstage at the Eras Tour and then publicly confessing how “butt hurt” he was when it didn’t happen, that ultimately won her heart.
“I was like, ‘If this guy’s not crazy, which is a big if, but if he’s not crazy, then this is basically every song I’ve ever written since I was a teenager come to life,’” Swift recalled.
Kelce joked that he even leaned on the Eras Tour setlist for inspiration. “I was sitting there at the show listening to every single one of those songs being like, ‘I know exactly what she wants me to do’... I’m the luckiest man in the world.”
With a laugh, Swift summed it up: “It was wild, but it worked. I’m glad it worked."
