Travis Kelce’s dad Ed has surprising budget for Taylor Swift’s birthday gift that will get her emotional
VANCOUVER, CANADA: With Taylor Swift's 35th birthday on December 13, Travis Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, has been racking his brain to find the perfect gift for the 'Shake It Off' singer.
On the 'Baskin and Phelps' podcast on December 12, Thursday, Ed shared the challenge of selecting a gift for someone as successful and accomplished as Swift, who has been dating his son Travis for over a year.
Ed Kelce believes 'money is meaningless' when it comes to giving Taylor Swift a gift
"Buying Taylor a present is like trying to buy Jason or Travis a present," Ed Kelce explained.
"There's nothing they want that they don't already have," he added.
This is a sentiment many parents can likely relate to — the challenge of finding a thoughtful gift for someone who already has it all. But Ed wasn't deterred.
"You can't go that route," he said, referencing how difficult it is to choose a present for someone like Taylor.
Ed, who is also the father of retired NFL player Jason Kelce, acknowledged that a traditional, expensive approach wouldn’t work.
"The amount of money is meaningless. You're not going to crush Taylor Swift with a gift that cost, you know, $100,000," he said.
Instead, Ed has devised a unique strategy. "You have to look beyond that. You gotta dig down and come up with something special," he continued.
For Ed, the key is emotion over extravagance.
“You gotta find something that triggers the emotion," he disclosed. The ideal gift, according to Ed, doesn’t need to be expensive or flashy but must come from the heart.
In fact, Ed is considering a gift that could be as simple as a thoughtful gesture: “I need to get something that tweaks the strings of her heart that you spend 10 bucks on,” he revealed.
"Then she'll just be all gooey," said the senior Kelce.
It’s clear that Ed is prioritizing a personal touch over price tag, believing that a sentimental gift will have a lasting impact.
