Travis Kelce's heartbreaking reaction to Taylor Swift getting booed at Super Bowl 2025 revealed

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: Travis Kelce reportedly felt “helpless” as he witnessed the crowd at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, brutally boo his girlfriend Taylor Swift while he was battling the Philadelphia Eagles on the field. 

One would not fault the 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star, who is more often than not the crowd’s favorite, for feeling devastated as the Eagles-heavy crowd in New Orleans booed his girlfriend. 

Now a source close to the celebrated tight end shared with Daily Mail that his heart “broke” when he saw the crowd jeering at the ‘So High School’ singer.

Travis Kelce felt ‘helpless’ at the brutal trolling of Taylor Swift

Contrary to the usual welcome Taylor Swift receives from the NFL fans, the Grammy winner was mocked by the spectators as she appeared on the Superdome's jumbotron.

Reflecting on the event, the source shared, “Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him.”

They added, “He always protects her and it broke his heart.”

Referencing the Chiefs’ losing battle against the Eagles, the insider further noted, “He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn't help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this.”

The source further explained that the fans felt that Pennsylvania-born Swift was sort of a traitor as she started supporting the Chiefs after her relationship with the tight end blossomed. Though Swift has previously been seen wearing Eagles gear, she has been a thorough Chiefs supporter after she started dating Kelce. 

The insider noted, “It’s clear to many that the Eagles fans feel she is a traitor of sorts - being from Pennsylvania and even wearing Eagles gear prior to dating him.”

“Travis believes that it was unnecessary for Trump to take a dig at her especially after he voiced that he was honored for a president to be there,” continued the source while referencing President Donald Trump’s dig at Swift when he wrote on his Truth Social that the songstress had a “tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs.”

The insider also referenced the singer’s snub at the 67th Grammy, as they noted, “After Taylor being shut out for a Grammy and Travis losing the biggest game of the year it just hasn’t been a good week for them. But he knows that even though this is not a happy ending to the season having her love gives him so much joy.”

Taylor Swift was ‘booed’ by the New Orleans spectators

While the Chiefs were fighting a losing battle on the field, which they eventually lost to the Philadelphia-based team maintaining the scorecard 22-40, Taylor Swift was jeered at the stadium. 

When her face appeared on the giant screen, the Eagles-heavy audience booed at the songstress, which elicited a massive side-eye from Swift. 

As she was captured mouthing something to her pals - consisting of Este Haim and Ice Spice - a lip reader decoded that the ‘Lover’ singer said "Aww what, what's going on,” as reported by The Mirror. 

As the singer was caught off-guard by the unprecedented negative reaction, her pals including Serena Williams came forward to cheer her up. 

Williams took to her social media to pen a cheering post, writing, “I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!!”

Nevertheless, the audience’s strong reaction did not go unnoticed by President Donald Trump as well, who was also in attendance at the mega sporting event. 

Later, taking to his Truth Social, Trump wrote, “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”

The night finally ended with the Eagles’ win and the end of the dream run of the Kansas City Chiefs who were just one win shy of creating history by winning three-peat in three back-to-back Super Bowls.
