SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: Ariana Grande’s fashion choice has been called out online after she attended the 30th Critics' Choice Awards on Friday, February 7, donning an avant-garde cage dress. It was reportedly from Dior’s spring 2024 couture collection.

The dress, made of raffia material and mesh, featured a huge cage skirt. While the upper segment of the dress was body-hugging, the lower portion gave a bird’s nest vibe, featuring long and cascading strands, as per Women's Wear Daily.

Another user commented, “I don't wanna to sound arrogant or disrespectful but I sincerely don't like this dress at all. It's just match her hair and her skin, why? idk i don't like it. the bun also. idk, she can (must) do what she wants but I don't like it.”

A person on Reddit wrote, “The bottom looks like straw. It’s like a Project Runway dress and they only got to use items from around the farm.”

Another person shared, “I might be able to tolerate the dress if Ari's people styled it better. The hair, makeup, jewelry, and shoes aren't coherent and add nothing to the dress.”

Ariana Grande bids goodbye to 'Wicked'-inspired outfits

Though Ariana Grande's latest look did not get much approval from fans, she did usher change and bid goodbye to her 'Wicked'-inspired outfits. In the 2024 musical/fantasy, she played Glinda the Good Witch and lately, she was mostly seen in looks that appeared similar to her character's costumes in the film.

Last month, during the 2025 Golden Globes, the 'We Can’t Be Friends' hitmaker was seen wearing Hubert de Givenchy's yellow empire waist column gown from the Haute Couture S/S 1966 collection.

At the time, Grande said, as per PEOPLE, "It’s yellow because follow the yellow brick road. And it’s one of Glinda’s favorite colors. This is Givenchy 1966 archive. My stylist Mimi [Cuttrell] and I found it and we were so excited."
