LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Taylor Swift's father, Scott Swift, recently gave rise to speculations when he seemingly hinted at possibly switching allegiance to the Kansas City Chiefs, coinciding with his daughter's relationship with the team's tight end Travis Kelce.

Adding to the attention, Taylor recently received significant praise from Travis' brother, Jason Kelce. In a recent interview with WCPO 9 on Friday, February 2, Jason commended the pop star and addressed the attention she has garnered from the NFL, describing her as an "unbelievable role model'."

Scott Swift says he is a 'football fan' when asked about whether he is supporting the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII

As reported by Page Six, Scott found himself in the spotlight when questioned by a paparazzo at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday.

The longtime Philadelphia Eagles fan was asked if he had a preference for the Chiefs before his daughter, Taylor, started dating the team's tight end, Travis.

Scott responded, "I’m a football fan — of all teams." When discussing the Chiefs' current head coach, Andy Reid, the pop star's father mentioned, "Andy Reid used to coach the Eagles."

Scott, accompanied by Taylor's brother, Austin Swift, her manager, Robert Allen, and her assistant, Erica Worden, arrived in Los Angeles ahead of the 2024 Grammy Awards scheduled to take place on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena.

Notably, this year, the 'Lover' singer has been nominated in six categories, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Album of the Year.

Despite concerns from Swifties about Taylor's attendance at the Super Bowl to support her boyfriend Travis during the Chiefs' match with the San Francisco 49ers, the Embassy of Japan issued a statement assuring a timely arrival for the pop star, who is gearing up to kick off the next leg of her Eras Tour in Tokyo.

Internet slams Scott Swift following his comment on whether he will support the Chiefs in Super Bowl 2024

Soon after Scott's remarks regarding supporting the Chiefs in the Super Bowl LVIII came to light, some netizens weren't happy with his response. 

One wrote, "The whole family is full of attention seekers," while another said, "Why does the whole family have to follow her around, don’t they have lives of their own?"

A person remarked, "Why would he not support her partner’s team? Not like he’s playing for the Eagles…"
