WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump marked the 100th day of his second presidency by torching the mainstream media on live TV.

The unlucky recipient of the flamethrower this time was ABC News’ Terry Moran, who got a full presidential dressing-down in an interview on Tuesday, April 29, that felt more like a cage match than a conversation.

The former 'Nightline' co-anchor probably didn’t expect his big moment to turn into a public beatdown, but it was clear this was going to be a rough ride for Moran from the minute he questioned Trump about America’s global reputation, the Daily Mail reported.

“We were laughed at all over the world,” Trump fired back. “We had a president that couldn't walk up a flight of stairs, couldn't walk down a flight of stairs, couldn't walk across a stage without falling. We had a president that was grossly incompetent," he said, referring to his predecessor, Joe Biden.

"You knew it, I knew it, and everybody knew it. But you guys didn't want to write it because you're fake news, and, by the way, ABC is one of the worst. I have to be honest with you," Trump added.

Moran replied: “Thank you for the opinion. But more importantly, thank you for having us here.”

Donald Trump chides Terry Moran, spars with him over controversial photo

Terry Moran was reportedly handpicked by Donald Trump for this exclusive—but the commander-in-chief clarified that wasn't a compliment.

“They're giving you the big break of a lifetime,” Trump told him mid-interview. “I picked you to do the interview because frankly, I'd never heard of you, but you're not being very nice.”

This came during a testy exchange over Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a deported El Salvador national who is reportedly a member of MS-13—a group designated by the US government as a “foreign terrorist organization.”

Moran questioned the legitimacy of a widely shared photo Trump had posted of Garcia’s hands, saying the knuckle tattoos looked “photoshopped.” But Trump was having none of it.

“Terry. Do you want me to show the picture?” Trump asked.

Moran responded that he had seen the image and suggested they “agree to disagree.” But Trump wasn’t letting this one go.

“He had MS as clear as you can be. Not 'interpreted,’” Trump shot back. “This is why people no longer believe the news, because it's fake news," the president added.

Moran said the same tattoos didn’t appear in separate photos taken in El Salvador. He showed Trump that image—one he said didn’t feature any MS-13 insignia.

“But they're there now, right?” Trump asked.

Moran responded, “They're in your picture,” implying again that the image might’ve been altered.

“He's got MS-13 on his knuckles. Okay?” Trump insisted.

Moran declined to agree, and that’s when Trump turned up the heat again: “You do such a disservice. Why don't you just say, 'Yes, he does', and, you know, go on to something else?”

Trying to cool things down, Moran finally backed down and pivoted to foreign policy. “We'll take a look at that, sir,” he said, moving on to the Ukraine war.

Donald Trump tears into Terry Moran over Ukraine and Vladimir Putin

When the topic shifted to Ukraine, Donald Trump once again did not hold back. He told Terry Moran that Russian President Vladimir Putin “wants peace".

Moran asked, "Still, even while he's raining missiles?"

Trump responded, “His dream was to take over the whole country. Because of me, he's not going to do that... you start hitting me with fake questions. You're being dishonest.”

That jab was followed by an upper cut when Moran asked point-blank whether Trump trusts Putin.

“I don't trust you. I don't trust, I don't trust a lot of people. I don't trust you,” Trump declared.

“Look at you. You come in all shootin’ for bear. You're so happy to do the interview, and then you start hitting me with fake questions," he added.
