Trump praises Nicki Minaj at White House
While addressing guests at the luncheon, Donald Trump paused to recognize Nicki Minaj, describing her as someone he deeply admires. "We also have a woman that is so respected and so hot and so great and a great friend of - I don't say conservative - I say common sense," Trump said.
The president continued praising the rapper, telling attendees that she had earned widespread respect throughout her career.
"She's a fantastic person and she's a woman that's respected by everybody. And she's got real talent, Nicki Minaj. Nicki, stand up, please. Such a great person and respected by everybody."
The comments were met with applause inside the venue as Minaj stood to acknowledge the crowd. She attended the event wearing a pink dress and appeared to enjoy the moment as Trump continued speaking warmly about her.
Soon afterward, Minaj shared a photo of herself with Trump from the Oval Office on social media. "Whoa!!!! #WhiteHouseBarbie with her favorite President of all time," she wrote while posting the picture.
Nicki Minaj supports Trump
The public bond between Donald Trump and Nicki Minaj has continued to grow over the past year, with the rapper repeatedly expressing support for the president and his administration.
According to reports, Minaj made headlines in January when she appeared at the Trump Accounts Summit and declared herself to be Trump's biggest supporter.
"I am probably the president's No. 1 fan," Minaj said. "And that's not going to change. What people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. And it's going to motivate all of us to support him more."
She also defended the president against criticism, saying, "We're not going to let them get away with bullying him. And you know, the smear campaigns. It's not going to work. He has a lot of force behind him and God is protecting him."
Nicki Minaj shares birthday tribute to Trump
Nicki Minaj has continued to publicly acknowledge Donald Trump beyond appearances at official events.
After the president celebrated his 80th birthday in June, the rapper marked the occasion with a social media tribute featuring several AI-generated images. "Happy 80th birthday Mr President," Minaj wrote alongside the images.
Her latest Oval Office post came shortly after Trump's remarks at the White House luncheon, further highlighting the friendly relationship the two have built over the past year.
While Minaj has remained active in public life and political conversations, she has largely stayed quiet on the music front throughout 2026.
Even without releasing new music this year, the rapper's career achievements continue to stand out.
She has recorded 149 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 during her career and has earned three No 1 albums on the Billboard 200.
Those accomplishments have helped cement her place as one of the most successful female rappers in the music industry.
Her appearance at the Rose Garden Club Lunch, followed by Trump's glowing praise and her Oval Office post, quickly became another widely discussed moment linking the two public figures.
