PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Former president Donald Trump raised questions about his participation in the ABC News presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, which is scheduled to be held next month.

The GOP presidential nominee took to his Truth Social platform on Sunday, August 25, whining about the outlet's Trump haters panel and host Jonathan Karl's interview of Republican Sen Tom Cotton on 'This Week'.

"I watched ABC FAKE NEWS this morning, both lightweight reporter Jonathan Carl's (K?) ridiculous and biased interview of Tom Cotton (who was fantastic!), and their so-called Panel of Trump Haters, and I ask, why would I do the Debate against Kamala Harris on that network?" Trump asked.

Donald Trump suggests panel would give questions to Kamala Harris beforehand

Donald Trump claimed Kamala Harris might get the questions in advance, citing how 'This Week' panelist Donna Brazile gave the town hall questions to Hillary Clinton beforehand during the 2016 primary race.

The real estate mogul further cast doubt on whether George Stephanopoulos, who faces a defamation lawsuit from him, would be a part of the ABC debate.

"They've got a lot of questions to answer!!!" the ex-president wrote. "Why did Harris turn down Fox, NBC, CBS, and even CNN? Stay tuned!!!"

Trump, who had a successful face-off against his former opponent, President Joe Biden, agreed to a September 10 debate with the sitting vice president hosted by ABC News. After Harris replaced Biden in the race, Trump was initially reluctant to participate.

Both sides agreed to take part in the September 10 debate later. Though the MAGA spearhead urged his opponent for more debates on Fox News and NBC News to be held the same month, Harris' campaign refused, saying she would only be part of the ABC News event before deciding on a potential second debate.

September 10 debate will be held in Philadelphia, moderated by ABC News' David Muir and Linsey Davis, as per The Hill.

Trump, in the first presidential debate of the election year on CNN held in June, emerged successful after Biden struggled to form coherent sentences, eventually leading to the 81-year-old ending his reelection bid.

Internet ridicules Donald Trump as he raises questions about ABC News debate with Kamala Harris

Netizens attacked Donald Trump with mocking responses as he cast doubt on his participation in the ABC News interview with Kamala Harris next month. Many suggested the former president was chickening out, sharing hilarious memes.

"Coward DNA is inherent to the Trump bloodline," a user wrote.

"Like we didn't see that coming," another remarked, sharing a chicken running around GIF.

"Trump ducks debate with Kamala! Guess 'The Art of the Deal' doesn't include 'The Art of Showing Up,'" added a third user.

"Wow. If Donald J. Trump is too gutless to debate Kamala Harris, he has no business trying to relocate to the White House. Instead, he's just running scared like a little weirdo," read a fourth response.

"Freaking old dude," someone else wrote, along with a funny GIF that said, "YOU'RE THE CHICKEN I'M NOT A CHICKEN."

"After all these years he is still a draft dodger, of course he will run from a debate. He can run but he can't hide from facts. Run rabbit run," an individual chimed in.

"Yep! He watched her speech at the #DNCConvention2024 And it occurred to him, PROSECUTORS DON'T USE TELEPROMPTERS!" another user added.

"The biggest chicken from the standpoint of chickens," one user joked.
