WASHINGTON, DC: Former Hawaii congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard said on Friday, August 23, that former president Donald Trump's preparation for the debate is going "great."

"He knows the issues. He is very honed in on her [Kamala Harris'] record in reminding voters… ‘what have you done for the last three and a half years?' You can paint this rosy picture about what you're going to do, but we're paying attention to what you've already done and how her policies have destroyed our economy, made us less safe, both here at home and abroad," she told Fox News.

Donald Trump recruited Tulsi Gabbard to help sharpen his skills ahead of debate

In preparation for the much-awaited debate on September 10 at the National Constitutional Center in Philadelphia where he will square off against Vice President Kamala Harris, the former president brought in Gabbard to hone his abilities.

During a Democratic primary debate in 2019, Tulsi Gabbard notably attacked Kamala Harris for locking up hundreds of Californians for marijuana offenses, even though she herself used the drug. "She put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana," she said during the viral exchange.

Tulsi Gabbard isn't the only former Democrat who appears to be in Donald Trump's corner

There are other former Democrats who seem to be supporting Donald Trump besides Tulsi Gabbard. There are still rumors circulating that independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy, Jr will announce his withdrawal from the contest and give the former president his endorsement on Friday, August 23. Gabbard also weighed in on that speculation.

"His supporters are independent-minded people who value freedom, who are concerned about what President Biden and Vice President Harris have done to our country and leading us onto the brink of multiple regime change wars, the brink of World War III and nuclear war. They're concerned about this broken health care system and the deep rot of corruption that is entrenched in almost every agency in our government," she said.

She added, "We'll see what Bobby Kennedy decides to do, and no vote should be taken for granted. We'll have to make the case to his supporters about the very clear contrast between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Kamala Harris is standing for taking away our freedom, an increasingly tyrannical government and more war versus Donald Trump, who stands for peace, prosperity and freedom."

Internet says Donald Trump needs to win decisively in the upcoming debate

Netizens reacted to Tulsi Gabbard's remarks regarding Donald Trump's preparation for the upcoming debate. One X user tweeted, "Hope so, because the name calling and generalities isn't going to work. He needs to win decisively." Another added, "Trump is a more gentle and refined leader. You cannot find a leader as good as him."

"If he would only stick to the facts an the issues he would win hands down. But when he goes off script and just starts adding s*** that's when it goes sideways. I love the guy but focus on the issues! We absolutely need to win this election!" remarked one. Someone else wrote, "Seems to me Trump is more mellower and more polished leader."
