LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: During a recent campaign rally in Georgia, Donald Trump asserted that his supporters were unaware of his achievements while in office, making an unusual claim about conflicts involving one of America's NATO allies.

"I stopped wars with France," he declared, prompting applause from some attendees.

Donald Trump mischaracterizes tax dispute with France as a 'war'

Donald Trump elaborated, “France. You know the France story? They were gonna charge us, think of this, 25% to all Amer — I have to protect American companies whether we like ’em or not, some of ’em I didn’t even like.”

This statement may have alluded to France’s 2019 initiative to impose a 3% tax on revenue from US tech companies operating within its borders.

Earlier this year, at a rally in Iowa, Trump claimed that France sought to levy a significant tax on American products while he was in office, which led him to threaten French President Emmanuel Macron with a 100% tax on “every bottle” of Champagne and wine imported from France.

Trump quickly transitioned from discussing France to his views on tech companies, stating, “You know, Google is treating us much better, did you notice that? What happened to Google they’re treating us much better, very nice, I appreciate that very much.” He then added, “They say McDonald’s was one of the most viewed things that they ever had. Can you believe, McDonald’s?”

These peculiar comments come amidst ongoing scrutiny regarding Trump’s mental sharpness during his campaign, as he has frequently lost his train of thought, rambled at rallies, and occasionally slurred his speech.

Social media reacts to Donald Trump's bizarre claims of 'stopping wars' with France

Social media users had a field day responding to Donald Trump’s bizarre claims about “stopping wars” with France, questioning the context of his statements.

One user wrote, "Is that “war” about Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement and imposing tariffs on European goods?"

Another user replied, "Well done, Trump."

One added, "His dementia is so bad that he thinks he’s 1940 Hitler and he called his German generals off."

Another user said, "Talking about tariffs, not actual war."

"Yes, and I heard that he single-handedly stopped a baguette invasion at the White House," added one.

"This is strong sign of Sundowning syndrome," someone else stated.
