WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump claimed that many US soldiers have been left injured by Iran and they’re forced to walk “around without legs”. The president made the claim while holding a college sports roundtable at the White House on Friday, March 6.

Many prominent figures, like Tiger Woods, Nick Saban, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, were in attendance as the Republican leader addressed the NCAA’s name, image, and likeness policies.

Trump scolds Fox News' Peter Doocy over 'stupid question' about claims of Russia helping Iran

However, Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy wanted to know about the US’ war with Iran as he asked the commander-in-chief about a report that said Russia was giving Iran intelligence about the US military.

The question reportedly left Trump fuming as he replied, “I have a lot of respect for you. You’ve always been very nice to me. What a stupid question that is to be asking at this time. We’re talking about something else.”

But later during the roundtable, the 79-year-old called on Doocy, saying, “Peter, I’ll give you one more chance because that was a bad question you asked before. Go ahead.”

The journalist asked, “What is motivating you to do this right now? Because there is a lot of other stuff going on in the world.”

“In Iran, we’re doing very well. Somebody said, ‘How would you score it from 0 to 10?’ I said, ‘I’d give it a 12 to 15.’ Their army is gone. They’re just about– look, their navy is gone. Their communications are gone. Their leaders are gone,” Trump said.

Trump claims US soldiers 'were being maimed' by Iran

He then appeared to turn his focus towards the Iraq war, where, as claimed by the American government, many US soldiers were injured by roadside bombs with material provided by Iran.

Trump said, “The situation with a very bad and very sick group of leaders, who were killing a lot of people. A lot of our people were being killed. They were being maimed.”

“They were being destroyed with their bombs all over the place, planted in roads, and we called them the roadside bombs. Walking around without legs, without arms, face blasted. Killed many, many people,” he added.

This came after it was reported that the US lost six soldiers during an airstrike by Iran in Kuwait. The fallen service members were Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert M Marzan, Army Reserve Major Jeffrey O'Brien, Captain Cody Khork, Sgt Noah Tietjens, Sgt Nicole Amor, and Sgt Declan Coady.
