PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Former President Donald Trump kept celebrating his victory following President Joe Biden's exit from the 2024 race, reiterating his assertion that he had "officially defeated the worst president."

At the Turning Point Action Believers Summit in Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday, July 26, the GOP presidential nominee also alleged that Biden's departure from the reelection bid was the result of a "coup," presenting two different explanations for why his 81-year-old opponent withdrew from the race.

"As you know, five days ago, we officially defeated the worst president in the history of the United States, crooked Joe Biden," Trump said, as per Mediaite. "You know, I thought a lot about it. We defeated him. He was badly beaten."

Biden ended the reelection bid on July 21, passing the torch to Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic ticket.

Donald Trump claims influential Democrats forced Joe Biden out of the 2024 race through a 'coup'

In another scenario, Donald Trump claimed that influential Democrats persuaded Joe Biden to exit the re-election race by offering him the choice to step down voluntarily.

Trump suggested that these Democrats assured Biden he could defeat him and encouraged him to withdraw and allow someone else to take his place to avoid losing the election.

"It's like a prizefighter. He's losing badly, ready to be knocked out. And they say, 'Well, wait, let's stop the fight. Let's put somebody else in,'" the MAGA spearhead continued. "It doesn't work that way, and it's not supposed to work that way. And this really was a coup by the Democrats. This was a coup. Nothing else. He got 14 million votes. I hate to stick up for Biden, but, you know, he didn't want to do what he did."

He also alleged that "fascists" threatened Biden with the 25th Amendment to coerce him into suspending his campaign, and now they are attempting to portray him as a "hero."

The President was under immense pressure from Democratic elected officials and donors to end his reelection bid due to growing concerns about his cognitive ability for one more term after a disastrous debate performance last month.

Biden's closest allies, including Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi, also reportedly pressured him to reconsider running for a second term.

Internet mocks Trump for declaring he 'defeated the worst president'

Donald Trump's victory lap following Joe Biden's exit drew mockery on social media, with many users pointing out that the real estate mogul himself was considered the "worst president" in the nation's history.

A user called the ex-president "delusional."

"Poor Trump talking abt himself again.. his supporters don’t even get that he’s the worst president of all time.. by far," another joked.

"Trump has never defeated Biden. Crooked Don Trump is going crazy because he never will," added a user.

"You asked for him to step down. He stepped down. Now you are upset that he stepped down? Careful what you wish for - you might just get it," read a response.

"Trump has a better chance of winning if he stays quiet," an individual wrote.

"Congrats Trump, now you are the oldest presidential candidate," someone else commented below Mediaite's article.

"As the oldest man to run for President at almost 80, Trump gets confused easily. It was President Biden who defeated the worst President in history!!" read one remark.

"Last week the GOP was telling us that we should NEVER vote for a dementia-ridden old man who can't even read a Teleprompter. Now they're telling us that we HAVE to vote for a dementia-ridden old man who can't even read a Teleprompter," another user quipped. [sic]
