Trump rips 'crazy' Candace Owens over conspiracy theory claiming Brigitte Macron is a man
WASHINGTON, D.C.: President Donald Trump on Thursday, April 9, lashed out at conservative streamer Candace Owens in a Truth Social post. He called her “low IQ” and “stupid,” claiming even she and her family know it.
Trump launched a rant at Candace Owens and her theories. He zeroed in on her claims about Brigitte Macron, which allege that Macron is a man, and dismissed them, calling Owens “crazy.”
Owens is now facing a lawsuit from the Macrons over those allegations, which remain unproven. She, however, did not wait to respond and quickly shared a post hitting back at Trump over his remarks.
Trump goes after Candace Owens over Brigitte Macron claims
Trump blasted Owens in a fiery post, attacking her theory about France’s First Lady. He wrote, “Crazy” Candace Owens, who accuses the Highly Respected First Lady of France of being a man, when she is not, and will hopefully win lots of money in the ongoing lawsuit."
He didn’t stop there. Trump added, "Actually, to me, the First Lady of France is a far more beautiful woman than Candace, in fact, it’s not even close!" The remarks quickly drew reactions online. Laura Loomer, a longtime Trump ally and far-right activist, amplified the post on X and responded with a laughing reaction.
Trump also aimed at other conservative figures. He criticized other three critics over their recent comments, including their stance on Iran, and fired back with another lengthy message.
Candace Owens fires back at Trump
Owens quickly responded to Trump’s Truth Social rant. She avoided a long explanation and instead wrote a brief but pointed line: “It may be time to put Grandpa up in a home.” She also reshared Trump’s roughly 500-word post. In it, she highlighted a few names and lines in red to draw attention before adding her remark.
On the other hand, the issue has escalated into a legal fight. Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte Macron have filed a defamation lawsuit in Delaware against Owens over her repeated claims.

According to Time magazine, Owens has stood firm and dismissed the case as a "desperate public relations strategy." She has continued to repeat her allegation that Brigitte Macron was born male under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux.
Filed in July 2025, the 22-count lawsuit accuses Owens of carrying out “relentless bullying” and a campaign of “global humiliation,” claiming it has caused serious harm.
