Trump roasted for comparing Manhattan to 'armed camp' preventing his supporters from showing up at court

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump expressed his disappointment at the fact that the 100,000 rallygoers who attended his weekend event in Wildwood, New Jersey, haven't shown up to protest his ongoing hush money trial in Lower Manhattan, per Mediaite.

The 2024 presumptive Republican presidential nominee bemoaned in front of senators JD Vance and Tommy Tuberville, before claiming that the reason for the low turnout was because Lower Manhattan is an "armed camp."

During an address preceding the highly anticipated testimony of Michael Cohen, a former fixer-turned-foe, the former president resorted to familiar accusations, claiming the judge presiding over the case to be "corrupt."

The 77-year-old MAGA strongman later commented on the security measures surrounding him.



 

“Because what this judge is getting away with is disgraceful, including the fact that we have thousands of people and 100,000 people in New Jersey. They would like to show their support,” the ex-president claimed.

“It’s like an armed camp outside. You can’t get one person within three blocks of this courthouse,” he remarked.

The Manhattan courthouse where Trump's criminal trial is taking place is reportedly not “like an armed camp.” Though there is some security in the few blocks surrounding the courthouses in that part of New York City, the area is easily accessible by subway, car, or even on foot.
