WASHINGTON, DC: A surreal image shared by President Donald Trump has grabbed attention online, showing him and several of his allies floating casually in one of US' most iconic landmarks.

Trump shares playful AI image of himself and allies in Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool
The image itself shows Trump and members of his circle appearing relaxed as they float in the Reflecting Pool, a setting typically associated with solemn national events and historical symbolism.
While the president did not provide detailed commentary alongside the image, its tone appeared casual and almost playful.
The Reflecting Pool sits between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument and is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the US. Any depiction of it, especially involving political figures, tends to draw strong reactions. On the same day, Trump also shared a photo with his face edited onto Mount Rushmore.
Reflecting pool under scrutiny amid vandalism probe
The timing of the post comes as the site itself is under active investigation. Authorities launched a probe after a large graffiti display was discovered at the Reflecting Pool, which is currently undergoing a major renovation.
The National Park Service alerted officials early Friday morning after the graffiti, measuring roughly 15 by 30 feet, was found spray-painted at the site. The markings included the numbers “86 47,” which some have interpreted as a political message.

“The affected area has been secured and covered while cleanup is arranged,” a spokesperson for the US Park Police said, calling the vandalism “unacceptable” and confirming that an investigation is ongoing.
The incident has added to growing concerns around security in Washington, especially following recent events involving threats to public officials.
Security concerns grow after recent incidents in Washington
The graffiti discovery comes just days after a major scare at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, where a man allegedly breached a security checkpoint and opened fire.
That incident has already raised questions about safety at high-profile events and locations.
In that context, Trump’s AI post has drawn even more attention, with the Reflecting Pool becoming both a symbolic and physical focal point of recent developments.
The numbers seen in the graffiti, “86 47,” have also sparked debate. While “86” is commonly used in the service industry to mean removing something, some have interpreted the sequence as a message directed at Trump, the 47th president.
Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is undergoing a makeover
Meanwhile, the Reflecting Pool is undergoing an accelerated renovation project ordered by Trump.
The work is being overseen by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and is part of a broader effort to prepare the site for upcoming national celebrations.
The project includes installing a blue surface at the bottom of the pool to address structural issues and improve its appearance.
Officials have said the goal is to complete the work ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations this summer.
Trump has previously criticized the condition of the landmark, pledging to restore it. “Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and I are working on fixing the absolutely filthy Reflecting Pool,” he wrote in an earlier post, adding that the work should have been completed by the previous administration.
