MADISON, WISCONSIN: President Donald Trump was roasted online after his candidate, Judge Brad Schimel, went down in flames in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race.

The big winner was Democrat-backed Judge Susan Crawford from Dane County, who snagged a 10-year term and ensured that liberals keep their 4-3 majority on the court. While the race was technically nonpartisan, both parties were deep in the trenches.

On one side, you had Trump, Elon Musk, and the Republican machine backing Schimel—a former Wisconsin Attorney General. On the other hand, Crawford had the backing of Democrat heavyweights like Barack Obama and billionaire megadonor George Soros.

Crawford has made a name for herself fighting for union power, abortion rights, and taking on voter ID laws, the Irish Star reported.

Donald Trump celebrates voter ID law before Elon Musk's million-dollar gamble fails

Donald Trump hopped on Truth Social ahead of the results and ignored the possibility of losing. Instead, he cheered Wisconsin for passing a voter ID law.

“VOTER I.D. JUST APPROVED IN WISCONSIN ELECTION. Democrats fought hard against this, presumably so they can CHEAT. This is a BIG WIN FOR REPUBLICANS, MAYBE THE BIGGEST WIN OF THE NIGHT. IT SHOULD ALLOW US TO WIN WISCONSIN, LIKE I JUST DID IN THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, FOR MANY YEARS TO COME!” Trump wrote in a post.

It's worth noting that Musk was all in on this race. The tech billionaire even hosted a last-minute town hall in Green Bay, hoping to turn the tide for Schimel. In fact, he handed out $1 million checks to two lucky voters.

But even Musk’s deep pockets weren’t enough to tip the scales. The stakes were high because the Wisconsin Supreme Court has a huge say in election-related laws, including disputes over election results.

“Wisconsin's a big state politically, and the Supreme Court has a lot to do with elections in Wisconsin,” Trump emphasized before the vote. “Winning Wisconsin's a big deal, so therefore the Supreme Court choice... it’s a big race.”

Donald Trump loses Crawford vs Schimel, but GOP dominates Florida races

Judge Susan Crawford made it clear she was coming for Schimel on one of the hottest issues—abortion rights. She slammed him for being anti-abortion and his cozy ties with Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

Schimel’s team tried to paint her as the bad guy, saying she was soft on crime and just a puppet for Democrats who wanted to redraw district lines in their favor.

But in the end, voters weren’t buying it.

While Trump lost in Wisconsin, the GOP had something to celebrate down in Florida. Republicans clinched two special elections in the 1st and 6th Congressional Districts—both considered strongholds for the party.

Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine secured victories, but these weren’t exactly nail-biters. Still, some Democrats claimed the GOP underperformed compared to Trump’s usual numbers in Florida.

However, Republicans were quick to claim victory, especially after murmurs of a closer-than-expected race in the 6th District.

Donald Trump trolled after last-minute attack on Susan Crawford

Ahead of the Wisconsin Supreme Court results, Donald Trump took one final swipe at Crawford, calling her a “radical left lunatic” and urging voters to back Schimel.

“Republicans typically don’t do very well” in Wisconsin, Trump admitted, before trying to rally his base.

“I hope you get out and vote for the Republican,” he continued. “The woman is a radical left lunatic, and let’s see who wins, but the woman will be very bad.”

Once the results came in, social media erupted with trolls coming for Trump.

"Dear Donald, Crawford won, despite your best effort. You, Musk, and Schimel are the losers. Guess what? Musk is a political liability," one posted on X.

"Susan Crawford won big and Tech bros and Trump lost tonight! Congrats to Judge Crawford on this big win!" another wrote.

"Laughing at Elmo and Trump, we f***ing won. & you lost!! Congratulations to Susan Crawford again! Democracy beat millions of dollars!!" someone else added.

"Give it up Trump. Wisconsin voters have spoken and popular Democrat Susan Crawford won. *You lost," a comment read.

"This wasn’t just a judicial race. It was a referendum on extremism," another insisted.

One individual wrote, "MAGA is in trouble," while another added, "Donald Trump's cope in Wisconsin is just plain sad."

One person commented, "A loss in Wisconsin threatens to make Trump and especially Musk look like losers for first time in office. It may be a blip. Interesting," while another said, "Wisconsin voters made their choice. This is the first real test of Trump’s presidency—and it’s a brutal loss for him."

Someone else shared, "Big loss for Trump in Wisconsin. Democrats have found a key for 2026 and beyond. The GOP is screwing up a perfectly good economy and country while their oligarchs try to buy elections. Now the Democrats just need to focus on solutions and inclusion, as the GOP self destructs behind authoritarians."

Another added, "This loss is on President Trump. Critical election and he couldn't be bothered to campaign in Wisconsin. Yeah I'm pissed."
