WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump is no stranger to calling out the media and giving funny monikers to journalists. And on Tuesday, May 20, he had another similar moment, when he snapped at a reporter who asked about his meeting with Republicans on Capitol Hill.

The incident took place after the 78-year-old president reached the Capitol to speak to the Republicans over his ‘big beautiful’ bill.

During his more than hour-long speech, he urged the Republicans to avoid making any cuts to Medicaid. “We have unbelievable unity,” Trump said after the meeting, adding, “I think we’re going to get everything we want.”

Trump gives a reporter sarcastic career advice

Following his meeting with Republicans, Donald Trump stopped for a press conference, where a reporter asked him about Rep Andy Harris, the chair of the House Freedom Caucus, who had earlier said that the president had not adequately convinced members of the party’s hard-right faction to support his bill.

"Andy Harris said that you didn't adequately convince enough people to vote for the bill," the reporter asked, referring to the Maryland Republican, according to Daily Beast.

The commander-in-chief interrupted by asking, “You mean after this speech?”

“After this speech,” the reporter confirmed.

"They said, well, why don't we see how the vote is?" Trump said, before adding, "I think it was a great, great talk, it wasn't a speech. We talked about things."

"Who do you work for?" he then asked the reporter, who responded that he was affiliated with NOTUS, a digital nonprofit owned by the Albritton Journalism Institute.

"Who?" Trump questioned, as the reporter repeated his outlet's name. "Get yourself a real job," he hissed, "Because I have no idea what the hell that is."

The tirade coincided with Trump and his White House team confronting pressure from multiple directions on the bill, according to Daily Mail.

Trump’s history of snapping at reporters

Donald Trump has a history of clashing with reporters, particularly when he doesn't like their questions. In a most recent incident, the president snapped at Bloomberg Television's chief political correspondent Annmarie Hordern after she asked him about the stock market.

In a clip shared by Hordern herself, she is seen asking Trump, "Is there pain in the market at some point you're unwilling to tolerate?"

Shocked at the question, the 78-year-old fired back, "I think your question is so stupid." He then tried to liken the situation to taking medicine to make a situation better.

"I mean, I think it’s… I don’t want anything to go down, but sometimes you have to take medicine to fix something. And we have such a horrible, we have been treated so badly, by other countries, because we had stupid leadership that allowed this to happen,” Trump continued.

Hordern attempted to quiz Trump about tariffs once more after he had taken questions from other reporters. But rather than respond, the president asked, "Who are you with?”

When she replied that she is with Bloomberg, Trump turned to another reporter and said, "She asks too many questions."

Trump's spat with Hordern came not even a month after a similar exchange with The Washington Post reporter Michael Birnbaum on March 10 aboard Air Force One.
