WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump is facing heat online after he was spotted wearing a lapel pin featuring a cartoon version of himself.

The pin, which shows a miniature, exaggerated version of Trump, was worn by the president during the swearing-in ceremony of Tulsi Gabbard as the director of national intelligence (DNI) in the Oval Office on Wednesday, February 12.

The ceremony saw Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democrat, being officially confirmed by the Senate as the DNI with a 52-48 vote, Newsweek reported. The occasion, however, took a backseat for some observers who couldn’t help but notice the unusual accessory worn by the president.

Trump has long used his name and image for fundraising throughout his political career, and the pin could be another example of Trump-branded merchandise available for his supporters

"I thought my son might enjoy this, but he’s sticking his fingers in my ears and stuff," Musk joked, before adding, "So it's been hard to hear sometimes."

He then turned to his son and said, "Hey! Stop that." Despite the interruptions, Musk kept his cool, continuing to address the media with his usual candid style.
