The video shows Trump speaking from a podium adorned with a golden eagle inside a decorated room filled with holiday lights. During his remarks, he paused to single out Loomer among the guests.
“We have a very beautiful young woman, very low-key, not controversial at all — Laura Loomer,” Trump said, drawing laughter. “Where’s Laura?”
After spotting Loomer with her fiance, Trump hinted at news that had not yet been shared publicly. “There is another couple that are getting married... We haven’t announced this yet. We don’t know yet.”
Trump then turned his attention to Loomer’s fiance. “You’ve got a great woman,” Trump told him. “People think she’s on the tough side. She’s not. She’s got a big heart and just cares about her country.”
At one point, the president appeared to acknowledge that he may have jumped the gun on the announcement. “So you were the first one to announce [it]," Loomer told him.
More engagements announced the same night
Loomer attended the White House Christmas party alongside other supporters and allies. The gathering was one of several holiday receptions hosted at the White House in recent days.
The night included another surprise announcement involving the Trump family. First son Donald Trump Jr also revealed at the White House Christmas party that he is engaged to his girlfriend, Bettina Anderson.
“I’m not usually at a loss for words, because I’m usually doing the ranting and raving really well, I want to thank Bettina for that one word: ‘Yes,’” Trump Jr. said in a video posted by Loomer.
