The 41-year-old sparked global concern when she posted a photo of herself bruised and battered in a hospital bed, claiming she had been struck by a school bus.
The caption described how the vehicle collided with her car, leaving her with just four days to live, according to doctors. In the wake of the widespread alarm, Giuffre has now issued a new statement detailing the circumstances of the accident, her worsening condition, and the confusion surrounding the Instagram post.

New statement provides details on Virginia Giuffre's car crash
In a statement provided to the Daily Mail, Virginia Giuffre shed light on the events surrounding the car crash that led to her injuries and kidney failure.
The statement began with an expression of gratitude: "Virginia thanks everyone for the outpouring of love and support. She is overwhelmed with gratitude."
It went on to clarify, "Today she remains in serious condition while receiving medical care. On March 24, in rural Western Australia, a school bus hit the car in which she was riding."
The statement further detailed the response from authorities: "The police were called but said that there was no one available to come to the scene. They asked if anyone was injured and suggested that if they were, they should make their way to the hospital."
Additional details were provided regarding the school bus: "The school bus driver had a bus full of distraught children and left the scene to get them back, saying he would file a police report, which he did later."
As for Giuffre's condition, the statement revealed, "Virginia was banged up and bruised and returned home. Virginia's condition worsened and she was admitted to the hospital."
Concerning the now-infamous Instagram post, it was explained that Virginia had mistakenly believed she was posting to her private Facebook page.
The statement added, "Concerning her Instagram post, Virginia thought that she had posted on her private Facebook page. Virginia and her family thank everyone for their concern."
Giuffre is currently receiving treatment at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Australia.

On Sunday, March 30, Virginia Giuffre shared a distressing selfie from her hospital bed on Instagram, showing severe bruising on her face and upper body.
In the post, she revealed she was suffering from kidney failure following the crash and claimed doctors had given her only four days to live.
The Instagram post began, "This year has been the worst start to a new year, but I won’t bore anyone with the details. But I think it important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km as we were slowing for a turn that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can."
She stated, "I've gone into kidney renal failure, they've given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology."
"I'm ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time, but you know what the say about wished. S**T in one hand and wish in the other & I guarantee it's still going to be s**t at the end of the day," Giuffre added.
She ended the message with a note of gratitude, saying, "Thank you all for being the wonderful people of the world and for being a great part of my life. Godbless you all xx Virginia."
The post prompted an outpouring of concern, and Brad Edwards, a US lawyer who has represented Giuffre in previous legal matters, described the situation as "very bad."
He expressed hope for better news in the coming days, hoping that she would recover with the proper medical care.
Additionally, Giuffre’s spokesperson, Dini von Mueffling, issued a statement saying, "Virginia has been in a serious accident and is receiving medical care in the hospital. She greatly appreciates the support and well wishes people are sending."
