NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Vivek Ramaswamy has claimed that the Democratic Party seeks to control its candidates, highlighting President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris as prime examples.

His comments came after Harris appeared in a highly anticipated CNN interview alongside her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, on Thursday, August 29.

Vivek Ramaswamy criticizes Kamala Harris' candidacy

Speaking about Kamala Harris' candidacy, Vivek Ramaswamy took to X and stated, "Kamala’s interview last night was a reminder that we’re not running against a candidate. We’re running against a *system*."

"They require a candidate they can control, which means having original ideas is a disqualification. That’s exactly why we get Biden, then Kamala, and so on," the former GOP presidential candidate wrote.

Agreeing with the entrepreneur's theory, Elon Musk, who has publicly endorsed Donald Trump, reshared Ramaswamy's post and wrote, "Exactly."

Kamala Harris defends her evolving policy stances

During her CNN interview, Kamala Harris addressed changes in her positions on issues such as fracking and border security, stating that her values have remained consistent since 2019, despite her evolving stances.

The Democratic presidential nominee also emphasized her commitment to diversity of opinion, suggesting she would consider appointing a Republican to her cabinet, although she did not specify any potential candidates.

She avoided direct responses to Trump’s comments questioning her identity, dismissing them as part of the "same old tired playbook," according to CNN.

Donald Trump calls Kamala Harris' presidential views 'incoherent'

Criticizing Kamala Harris' interview, Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Friday, August 30, and wrote, "I just saw Comrade Kamala Harris’ answer to a very weakly-phrased question, a question that was put in more as a matter of defense than curiosity, but her answer rambled incoherently, and declared her 'values haven’t changed'."

"On that I agree, her values haven’t changed - The Border is going to remain open, not closed, there will be Free Healthcare for Illegal Aliens, Sanctuary Cities, No Cash Bail, Gun Confiscation, Zero Fracking, a Ban on Gasoline-Powered Cars, Private Healthcare will be abolished, a 70-80% tax rate will be put in place, and she will Defund the Police. America will become a WASTELAND!" he added.

Internet backs Vivek Ramaswamy's take on Kamala Harris

As Vivek Ramaswamy questioned Kamala Harris' candidacy in the 2024 election race and criticized her first interview since accepting her presidential nomination, netizens doubled down on his opinion.

One user on X wrote, "She’s the perfect puppet. Willing to say or do whatever’s she told. The last thing the DNC wants is a strong President. They only want a figurehead they can control."

Another tweeted, "The 'Vote Blue no matter Who' crowd is a big crowd."

"Exactly. These aren't actual candidates with coherent beliefs and views. They're proxies and vectors for power," a netizen opined, while someone else quipped, "And just like with Biden— her incompetence isn’t a liability, it’s an asset."

"One puppet after another!" an individual commented and another penned, "Exactly, she is a puppet just like Joe Biden. She has no original thoughts of her own."
