WASHINGTON, DC: The release of the Jeffrey Epstein files has marked a major turning point in the political landscape of the country. On Friday, December 19, the Department of Justice (DOJ) made public images, documents, and FBI complaints filed by victims.
The controversy and turmoil surrounding the case have been growing and show no signs of slowing down. Now, another shocking image has surfaced. This time, it involves Walter Cronkite, once hailed as "the most trusted man in America."
The news anchor’s photo comes as a surprise, showing him sitting and talking with Epstein.
Walter Cronkite spotted with Jeffrey Epstein in newly released photos
The Department of Justice released a large set of Epstein Files documents on Friday, and the famous names already include Bill Clinton, Kevin Spacey, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross. Now, Walter Cronkite has been added to the list.
The photos show the news anchor, who famously covered the JFK assassination and the moon landing, sitting in a room with Epstein and an unidentified man. Cronkite sits on the right in an armchair, leaning forward as he talks.
An unidentified man is seated in the middle, facing him, while Epstein sits on the left, looking toward Cronkite as if he were speaking. Between them, there is a tray with food and drinks and a stack of magazines spread out across some ottomans.
The photos do not show anything specific, and the content of their conversation has not been released. CBS News says the images appear to be from 2007, when Cronkite was 90, a couple of years before he died.

The files include photos, call records, grand jury testimony, and interview transcripts, which may shed new light on Epstein’s connections with wealthy and influential individuals.
The release follows pressure from lawmakers, including members of the Republican Party. On November 19, President Donald Trump signed a bill requiring the Justice Department to make most Epstein-related records public within 30 days. This includes documents related to his death in jail.

The measure passed with bipartisan support, despite months of opposition from the president and some Republican leaders. Among them, Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) was a leading figure in the bipartisan effort to force the House of Representatives to vote on and pass the 'Epstein Files Transparency Act.'
Speaking about Epstein, he faced new charges in 2019 but died in custody before trial. His associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted in 2021 and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
