WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle vehemently defended Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris during a TV show after being questioned about her policy stance.

During her appearance on HBO's ‘Real Time With Bill Maher’ on Friday, September 20, she was joined by The New York Times columnist Bret Stephens.

The undecided voter, Bret Stephens, expressed his concern over Kamala Harris' “command,” when it came to being a leader of the nation.

“It would be great for her to sit down with you or George Stephanopoulos or you, Stephanie. Ask her, ask her – you know, George W Bush 25 years ago was asked if he could name the president of Pakistan and other people. He had no idea. And people said, this guy has no command of a foreign policy and it turned out to be a prescient set of questions,” Stephens said.

He asked, “It’s not too much to ask, Kamala, say, are you for a Palestinian state if Hamas is going to run that state? Yes or no,” reported Mediaite.

Ruhle responded, “Okay, let’s say you don’t like her answer. Are you going to vote for Donald Trump?”

“No, I’m not. I’m just said I’m not going to vote for him,” Stephens answered.

The news anchor argued, “Kamala Harris isn’t running for perfect. She’s running against Trump. We have two choices. And so there are some things you might not know her answer to," before adding, “And in 2024, unlike 2016, for a lot of the American people, we know exactly what Trump will do, who he is and the kind of threat he is to democracy.”

On being pressed that Harris should be asked specific questions in an interview, Ruhle responded jokingly, “I would just say to that, when you move to Nirvana, give me your real estate broker’s number and I’ll be your next door neighbor."

“We don’t live there,” she added.

Internet in splits as Stephanie Ruhle backs Kamala Harris over Donald Trump

Netizens quickly shared their thoughts on Stephanie Ruhle's outlook on defending Kamala Harris. A few called out her as biased, since she's a professional journalist, and siding with the Vice President didn't go well with them.

A user commented on X, "Maybe Kamala Harris won't do interviews because of her stance on banning Twitter."

"Maybe Kamala Harris won't do interviews because of her stance on reparations," wrote another individual.

A user shared, "So it’s Nirvana to get basic answers on policy positions?? Wow."

"This is why she’s going to lose support—people know they were better off under Trump. Save this clip, so we can do a mashup when Donald J Trump is named the 47th president," reacted someone else.

One user expressed, "That’s very Fkd up coming from a news anchor. That’s an activist."

"Thank you, Bret Stephens, for attempting to inject some sanity into this discussion," a netizen remarked.

Another expressed, "A candidate for US president is not supposed to be like a box of chocolates—you should know what you're going to get."

"My word, she can't even pretend to comprehend how anyone else might feel," penned one.
