LONDON, ENGLAND: King Charles III delivers Prince Harry a second rebuff after Buckingham Palace announced that older brother Prince William will take up Harry's position as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps.

Buckingham Palace declared that Prince William and his father would be present at a joint event on May 13 where the heir will be sworn in as the Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, per Daily Mail.

Following the 10th anniversary of his Invictus Games, the Duke of Sussex arrived in London on Monday, May 6, but he was unable to visit his father because of the King's hectic schedule.

Initially, Charles claimed he was too busy to meet with Harry in person. A few hours later, in another slight, the King revealed that his eldest son William would lead Harry's former helicopter unit starting next week.

Officially, the transfer is scheduled to take place at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop on May 13. A statement from the palace reads: "His Majesty the King will officially hand over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales."

"In August 2023, following His Majesty’s Accession, the King was pleased to announce military appointments including that the Prince of Wales would become Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps. The role was previously held by His Majesty the King, as Prince of Wales, for 31 years," the statement continued.

However, the statement was oddly timed to coincide with Harry's short return to the UK for the Invictus Games Foundation's celebration, which is scheduled on May 8 in London's St. Paul's Cathedral.

One royal insider stated, "Timing is everything," while another stated that the monarch's choice to skip seeing the Duke of Sussex on his quick trip to the UK, even though they are only three miles away, "will be widely perceived as a snub."

Michael Cole, a former BBC Royal correspondent, echoed the same emotion, saying, "It is quite a snub. For the King to not see his younger son, Prince Harry, although the two men will be only two miles apart tomorrow afternoon, gives an indication of the depth of the divide."

Buckingham Palace revealed Prince William's new job just two hours after it was revealed that Charles and Harry had not met.

A second one exclaimed, "The Scorpio sting is real ! Well done your majesty!!!"

Several users defended Prince Harry with one noting, "Charles is revealing that he will hand over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps to William the same day Harry is in the ? God, they're pathetic. The jealousy these people have for #GoodkingHarry is almost too funny."

Another one echoed a similar sentiment and remarked, "It’s hilarious because it means nothing. Harry is making an impact and all they do is give titles to each other that doesn’t matter."

"Yet another unearned award for themselves. Don't have the time to show up for Veterans, but time to add another Idi Amin style fake honor for themselves? They have all day long for that," explained a third Harry supporter.

"The way they work to continuously hurt him and he keeps going back for more. I wish for Harry to gain clarity and self esteem," remarked another.
