LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Wendy Williams, once known as the queen of New York radio, garnered many friends and notably one significant adversary through her acclaimed Hot 97 show.

The 60-year-old, who has a lengthy history of disputes with Sean "Diddy" Combs, accused the Bad Boy Records founder of being the sole reason for her dismissal from the show in 1998 and her permanent departure from the airwaves.

Wendy Williams claimed Sean 'Diddy' Combs' ruined her career in her 2004 memoir

In her 2004 book, 'The Wendy Williams Experience', Wendy Williams conveyed a distinct disdain for Sean "Diddy" Combs aka Puff Daddy, accusing him of trying to "single-handedly ruin" her career.

"The hell he put me through. I will never forget. But I don't hate him," wrote Williams.

She further penned, "For the record, I do not hate Sean ‘Puff Daddy, Puffy, P. Diddy’ Combs. I do not hate anyone, for that matter. I do, however, hold a certain level of contempt for Puffy. He single-handedly tried to ruin me, tried to ruin my career. He spent a lot of money and used a lot of his influence to try to crush me in New York in the late 1990s."

Williams' allegations that Diddy was responsible for her dismissal from the show have been seemingly corroborated by the rapper's former bodyguard, Gene Deal.

"Puff told Hot 97 if they didn’t get rid of her before he got back in New York, that they was not going to get any music from any of his friends, any of the record label executives that was cool with him, everyone was going to boycott their station," said Deal on 'The Art of Dialogue' in 2022.

He further noted, "We was out in LA for about three days; before we landed back in New York, Wendy Williams was in the radio station in Philly. It was over for her. She was fired."

Wendy Williams thought it was about time Sean 'Diddy' Combs was arrested

Wendy Williams recently broke her silence regarding Sean "Diddy" Combs' mid-September arrest, telling the Daily Mail, "You know how I feel about that? It is about time."

Diddy was arrested on September 16 and charged the next day with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Her dispute with the disgraced music mogul goes beyond his alleged hand in her dismissal from New York's premier radio station. On a 2005 broadcast of 'The Wendy Williams Experience', she claimed that members of his R&B girl group, Total, almost assaulted her.

In a 2019 episode of her talk show, Williams suggested that Diddy had a role in the altercation, and she recounted the time she confronted the women after the broadcast ended.

"Once upon a time, there was a music mogul who sent his all-girl group to beat my a** in front of the radio station. Fact! I finished my shift, round up my headphones, put my bag [on] my arm and I see everybody lined up at the window looking down on the sidewalk," claimed Williams.

She added, "I find this girl group, jump out of a gypsy cab, to come after me. To beat my a**! For what? You know what I said was true. You all were broke, and you were living in the projects and that was that."
