Wendy Williams’ ex-husband Kevin Hunter lands in legal trouble for misrepresenting car insurance claims
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The former husband of Wendy Williams is also reportedly not in a good space like the ex-talk show host.
RadarOnline.com reported that Kevin Hunter has been facing accusations of not following the court’s order while being involved in a legal battle with his car insurance company.
Kevin Hunter accused of wrongly demanding insurance money
Essentia Insurance Company has alleged that the TV producer has not provided them with financial documents after suing the firm for not paying him money for his alleged rain-damaged Ferrari.
As per reports, Hunter took legal action against the insurance company in 2022 after his 2018 Ferrari California T 2DR Retractable Hardtop was severely destroyed in 2021.
In his filing, he claimed that a heavy rainstorm damaged his vehicle after he parked it outside his friend’s house in Pompano Beach, Florida, on November 11, 2021.
Hunter went on to claim that despite adhering to Essentia Insurance Company’s rules and regulations, he never received the coverage money.
But the company asserted in its defense that in their probe, they found out there was no rain in Pompano Beach on November 11, 2021, until after 11 pm. There was reportedly only a “mere trace amount of precipitation.”
Insurance company asks for proof from Kevin Hunter
The firm also told the court, “[Hunter’s] misrepresentations about the event of loss and cause of loss nullify any coverage here.” As part of the case, Essentia Insurance Company reportedly asked for Hunter’s bank statements, a copy of his divorce settlement with Wendy, and details of his loans.
The court agreed with the insurance firm, asking Hunter to produce all, which he allegedly failed to do so.
Wendy Williams is battling frontotemporal dementia
With Hunter's insurance dispute, other shocking revelations have also come out lately about his ex-wife Wendy Williams, who has been away from the limelight for the past few years.
The 59-year-old’s care team shared in a statement, “In 2023, after undergoing a battery of medical tests, Wendy was officially diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD)."
“Aphasia, a condition affecting language and communication abilities, and frontotemporal dementia, a progressive disorder impacting behavior and cognitive functions, have already presented significant hurdles in Wendy's life," explained the caretakers.
The team added, “The decision to share this news was difficult and made after careful consideration, not only to advocate for understanding and compassion for Wendy, but to raise awareness about aphasia and frontotemporal dementia and support the thousands of others facing similar circumstances.”
