Wendy Williams revisits 2022 financial plea in new video
In her recent Instagram post, Wendy Williams captioned a video about her 2022 plea, when the issue first surfaced.
“The truth, February 16, 2022, in her own words,” where she opened by saying, “Hi, this is Wendy.”
She said that since firing her financial adviser, Lori Schiller, she has struggled to access her own money, as Perez Hilton noted.
“I do my own banking at Wells Fargo and Lori has made it virtually impossible,” Williams continued.
“I have had to fire her at my own discretion and because it's been hard, I have had to hire outside help to communicate with my bank,” she added. “I need access to my accounts and I hope this gets resolved.”
Wells Fargo froze Wendy Williams' accounts citing financial exploitation concerns
Wendy Williams' accounts were frozen in 2022 after Lori Schiller alleged she was of “unsound mind.”
The freeze followed reports that her son, Hunter Jr, who was her power of attorney at the time, allegedly withdrew a large sum of money from her account, raising red flags, as reported by People.

Wells Fargo petitioned a New York court to place her under temporary financial guardianship.
In a statement, the bank at the time said, “Wells Fargo has strong reason to believe that [Williams] is the victim of undue influence and financial exploitation.”
The bank based this conclusion on “reports of the financial advisor, who has recently witnessed telltale signs of exploitation, including [Williams]'s own expressed apprehensions” and input from “other independent third parties who know [Williams] well and share these concerns.”

In her nearly four-minute Instagram video posted in 2022, Williams addressed the situation: “I'm tired of everyone speaking as if they're me in this scenario.”
The caption of the post read, “It's time I let all of my 💕 loving 💕 supporters know what's really been going on with Wendy 😉😊.”
“My thing is that I've been asking questions about my money and when I begin asking questions about my money, suddenly Lori Schiller has got no response regarding my money,” Williams said. “I want my money. This is not fair.”
Hunter Jr says he's 'never taken' without Wendy Williams consent
In Lifetime’s 'Where Is Wendy Williams?' documentary, her son Hunter Jr denied any wrongdoing regarding the alleged unauthorized withdrawals.
He said that while Williams was in his care in Florida, she approved all financial decisions.
He also noted her history of spending significant sums, stating it was consistent with her lifestyle.
“I’ve never taken [money] without her consent,” said Hunter Jr in the documentary.
Details of Wendy Williams’ current financial holdings have not been publicly disclosed.
