WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden delivered a message of unity and optimism on Tuesday, March 12 after securing enough delegates to clinch the Democratic presidential nomination.

According to a report from The Hill, he won the Georgia Democratic primary, securing sufficient delegates to ensure that the forthcoming general election will be a 2020 rematch between incumbent President Biden and former President Donald Trump.

What did Joe Biden say after bagging Democratic presidential nomination on Tuesday?

The 81-year-old Commander-in-Chief said in a statement, “Four years ago, I ran for president because I believed we were in a battle for the soul of this nation. Because of the American people, we won that battle, and now I am honored that the broad coalition of voters representing the rich diversity of the Democratic Party across the country have put their faith in me once again to lead our party — and our country — in a moment when the threat Trump poses is greater than ever.”

He continued, “I believe that the American people will choose to keep us moving into the future. With every crisis, America has always emerged stronger and more united on the other side. This November will be no different — and I believe we will do it together.”

The President claimed that his political opponent, Donald Trump, is "running a campaign of resentment, revenge, and retribution that threatens the very idea of America" and that "freedom and democracy are at risk."

“Voters now have a choice to make about the future of this country. Are we going to stand up and defend our democracy or let others tear it down? Will we restore the right to choose and protect our freedoms, or let extremists take them away? Will we finally make the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes — or will we allow corporate greed to run rampant on the backs of the middle class?” Biden asserted.

The President is embarking on a tour of battleground states in the coming days, following his State of the Union address last week on Thursday, March 7. He is scheduled to travel to Wisconsin on Wednesday and then make his way to Michigan.

Another user asked: "Be honest, after Biden’s disastrous SOTUA…..is anyone from either side feeling the unity?"

Another user wrote: "Biden wants unity after this display? What a joke."

One user claimed: "Biden just trashed the Supreme Court and Republicans in his State of the Union."

Another X user quipped: "He is incompetent to stand trial - but A-Okay to be President! Somebody explain that to me."

Finally, this user tweeted: "Are you kidding Biden had been the most divisive President ever. He wouldn’t know how to unify anything. He is an embarrassment to the US and clearly is not capable of running our country. Biden is weak and the world is a mess because of it"
