'What a loser': Trump slammed for comparing Biden administration to 'Gestapo' at private donor event
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Former President Donald Trump likened President Joe Biden's administration to the secret police of Adolf Hitler's Nazi Germany during a closed-door luncheon at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida.
The GOP presumptive nominee made the remarks while speaking to the attendees at the Republican National Committee's spring retreat on Saturday, May 4, where he talked about his multiple legal struggles, according to NBC News.
"These people are running a Gestapo administration," Trump said, according to audio of the event. "And it's the only thing they have. And it's the only way they're going to win in their opinion."
"Once I got indicted, I said, well, now the gloves have to come off," he added.
The White House hopeful also attacked the prosecutors in the cases against him and criticized the recent indictments against his allies, the so-called "fake electors" in Arizona.

The former president lashed out at his successor, calling him the "worst president" in the history of the United States.
"He's grossly incompetent. He's crooked as hell. He's the Manchurian candidate, he accepts massive amounts of money from China, Russia, Ukraine, and many other countries. He's a crook," Trump continued throwing several accusations at Biden.
Further into the speech, the MAGA spearhead indicated that he did not care about the legal struggles and shared the philosophy that "life is life." However, he acknowledged he was surprised at his indictment.
"Once I got indicted, I said, Holy s***. I just got indicted. Me. I got indicted," the White House hopeful said.
He also spewed disparaging comments about special counsel Jack Smith, who is investigating two indictments against him. He said the prosecutor was an "evil thug" and "deranged."
Trump faces four indictments for allegedly attempting to overturn the 2020 election, including instigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack, mishandling of classified documents, and falsifying business records to pay hush money to an adult film actress in 2016.
The former president is currently under trial for the hush money case; meanwhile, the document case is expected to start on May 20.
Hundreds of donors attended the Saturday luncheon along with his top vice presidential contenders, including Sen Tim Scott, Rep Elise Stefanik, Gov Doug Burgum, Sen JD Vance, Sen Marco Rubio, Rep Byron Donalds, and Gov Kristi Noem.
