Zac Efron's pool incident explained

Zac Efron's swimming pool incident occurred when he performed a deep dive, hitting the bottom of the pool and inhaling water into his lungs, according to TMZ

Sources close to the situation revealed that Efron went for a swim with friends early Saturday morning in Ibiza, where he attempted a dive that resulted in him inhaling a significant amount of water when his chest struck the pool's bottom.

He showed signs of distress and was assisted out of the water by onsite security. Earlier, MEAWW reported that Efron’s hospitalization was purely precautionary. After his hospital visit, it was confirmed that Efron underwent a chest X-ray to ensure the water had been expelled from his lungs.

He was cleared for release within hours but stayed at the hospital due to a large number of photographers outside. Efron later went out for dinner in Ibiza on the night of August 4 and returned to the United States in good health.

Prior to the mishap incident, Efron performed on stage with Dutch DJ Martin Garrix at one of his shows. He has been spending time in Ibiza and Europe for the past few weeks. Two weeks ago, he was seen on a yacht with friends in Ibiza, after a visit to St Tropez earlier in the month. This is not Efron's first serious accident.

Zac Efron's addresses rumors about plastic surgery

Over a decade ago, Zac Efron broke his jaw after slipping on socks at home and hitting his chin on a granite fountain. In a 2022 interview with Men's Health Magazine, Efron said he lost consciousness and woke up with his "chin bone hanging off his face." The injury caused his masseter muscles to grow larger to compensate, changing his appearance. He mentioned that his masseters became "really, really big."

Efron has faced rumors about plastic surgery due to his changed look. He clarified that the changes were from his jaw injury.

Efron said he only learned about the viral social media discussions about his appearance when his mother asked if he had surgery.

He told Men's Health Magazine, "If I valued what other people thought of me to the extent that they may think I do, I definitely wouldn't be able to do this work."
