WASHINGTON, DC: The Republican Study Committee's (RSC) budget proposal has been deemed by President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign as a direct reflection of former President Donald Trump's priorities for another term.

The RSC, which consists of almost 80% of all House Republicans, proposed in its budget released Wednesday to raise the retirement age for those who are not nearing retirement “to account for the increases in life expectancy.”

Additionally, the budget supports legislation that seeks to put restrictions on abortion, which could potentially jeopardize in vitro fertilization (IVF), according to The Hill.

What did Biden’s campaign team say regarding the RSC’s budget proposal?

President Joe Biden’s campaign communications director, Michael Tyler, said in a statement, “Donald Trump’s MAGA allies in Congress made it clear today: a vote for Trump is a vote to make the MAGA 2025 agenda of cutting Social Security, ripping away access to IVF, and banning abortion nationwide a hellish reality.”

“While Trump and his allies push forward their extreme agenda, the American people are watching — and they’ll turn out to send President Biden and Vice President Harris back to the White House this November,” Tyler added.

Asserting his commitment to defend Social Security and Medicare, Biden has frequently attacked Republicans who pose a threat to these programs.

The Biden campaign jumped on comments former President Donald Trump made in a recent appearance on CNBC, saying, “There is a lot you can do in terms of entitlements.”

The 77-year-old MAGA strongman has since retracted his remarks, claiming, “I will never do anything that will jeopardize or hurt Social Security or Medicare.”

People on X shared their opinions and immediate reaction to the news of President Joe Biden's reelection campaign, claiming that the RSC's budget proposal on Wednesday had Trump's fingerprints all over it.
